cant wait to see the 6" nozzle tuned up...get to work guys...
I guess that would be a possibility, but I would need to know within the hour, I just got home from PA a few hours ago and now getting ready to ship the first 50 out as we speak. Personally I think most of my customers would like their kits as soon as possible, and not have to wait a month. This fiberglass is insanely strong, Curtis was standing on my thin wall scraps showing how amazing his tubes are, so there’s no doubt in my mind if they fall off the back of an USPS airplane they’ll be fine lol.Buddy,
At last count, there are 337 registered flyers for LDRS38 at the end of this month. I have to imagine there are a number of flyers or attendees that purchased your kit. How about offering the option for those folks (I am one of them) to pick up the kit instead of shipping. This will save time, money and mitigate the risk of shipping damage. Since your purchase price included shipping, maybe offer a modest rebate for those picking up the kit?

I have no doubt your intensions are good. However, most, if not all, folks that placed an order have already paid shipping charges. While I won't speak for Buddy, going back and figuring out who is going to LDRS and would rather pick-up at LDRS , combined with the shipping refunds, logistical issue of bringing a number of kits to LDRS, and hoping to catch the individuals at LDRS, that's asking a little much. For me, I'm happy to get mine shipped to my door, rather than wait for LDRS and adding those additional requirements to a vender, who is already bringing goodies to sell and/or display at LDRS. On the other hand, I could be all wrong.
So if all didn't come together for LDRS pick up that would have been another mess to straighten out. So I think its best to ship orders. If there is any left for LDRS than Buddy can bring them along for sale.I think you’re right, Fred. That’s the kind of option that should have been requested or offered at the time the order was placed.
If you can, watch the version with Homer Hickham's commentary track. I found it enlightening to contrast actual with theatrical; plus, getting an idea of what was going through his head during each failure stage. Also, the Miss Riley rocket according to Homer was fairly big (at least it surprised me). This thread basically makes me feel bad that I've never seen October Sky. I shall need to rectify that.
Great job with these kits, the care and attention put into creating them and making them special is obvious.
Hey Buddy, I have a question.
By chance will tracking notices be issued to respective buyers as orders get shipped out?
Oh, then no worries. I just hoped you were using an automated/on-line postage system. If you are doing manual entry of postage or using courier office to process shipping then just keep it as simple as possible for your own sanity. No they won’t be, but I can of course give them out, I don’t have a way to send them other than typing every number. I was thinking of taking a picture of the receipt and putting the buyers name by each number, might be the easiest for me. I definitely want people to keep a close eye on the packages from getting taken outside.

That’s been the plan all along! Next batch (47 kits) will ship around August 18th.At the pace your working you will have all orders shipped before LDRS.
