YOU BUILD ROCKETS???!!!?? :eyepop:
I thought CJ or Jason built your stuff!?
Yes I still build rockets.
I just hate editing pictures
It's the "new Tim"--getting back to his roots
besides I wanted to try the new Glue.
This cant end well. Tim glues his phone to his head ala CJ style. Is what I read when I saw this...
Glad your jumping into the build thread ring...
I started laying down the exterior fillets last night and I have to say I am impressed with the Rocketpoxy .
It is very forgiving with the mixing ratio and lays real nice fillet .
I just added a little of the Black pigment and the poxy turned jet black right away.
I woke up this morning and went to pull the tape from the fillets I put down last night and the tape would not come up.
I am in the process of cutting and scraping to get the tape off from under the over flow of the fillet.
Lesson learned make sure to pull the masking tape before glue goes completely hard. I may have to sand now.
BTW I can not get the leftover glue out of the plastic reusable cups. I guess they are not so reusable.
That's all for now
What is Rocketpoxy? Is it similar to proline 4500 epoxy with the same consistancy and temp rating? Is wildman going to carry it?
I like to use my left over glue for the other small things as I go along.
with this I will do the optional vent band.
First you mark center of the coupler then measure out from that to half of your vent band the one I am using is 1.5 wide so measure out 3/4 from your center line.

Now take some glue and lay a small bead around the coupler staying close to one line.

Slide your vent band on the coupler up to the bead of poxy.
Once you hit the poxy twist as you are moving it through to the center to smear the glue around the coupler for a good bond.

once you have it up to your second set of marks stop and clean up the excess glue (Its a lot easier to do now instead of later)

Rocketpoxy is a new product that one of our local fliers has come up with we have been passing it around for a month or so amongst us and I have to say it has held up to what he has advertised.
This is the first I have used it and I am impressed.
Its the consistency of creamy peanut butter, holds it's shape and sticks real good on everything I have tried so far.
I will do a product review as soon as I am done with this build thread.
Yes Wildman's is carrying it.
Is that a bug? Both sizes cost the same.
I could use some really cool silver or chrome decals for it.:wink:you really need some cool graphics for that Tim... you better be contacting me soon.. I still owe you plenty!
