There’s freaking out, which isn’t helpful. And there’s taking prudent steps, which makes sense. I guess different people draw the line at different places.
I did stock up on certain things, including TP, because I think it makes sense to do so. Maybe some might think that’s a sign of panic, but here are my reasons. I don’t intend to go to the store for a couple of weeks to avoid contact with others. If I personally got sick, or my wife got sick, I’d self-quarantine for at least 2 weeks. And from watching the news, other countries have ordered certain regions to lock down, stores and restaurants are ordered shut, and you aren’t supposed to be on the streets — it makes sense to me that could happen here. For those reasons, I have several weeks of food, TP, and panic-soothing booze (which maybe I didn’t get enough of, and I’m kind of starting to panic over).
Does that make sense, or have I given in to media-induced mass hysteria

It makes sense, certainly not dumb, but with a bit of hysteria and also a bit selfish. One of my sons went shopping yesterday had no problems with getting what he wanted except for TP. He is 43 has 4 children, why should he have to go looking all over or have to go back to the store again to get TP? I'm 65 and if I go shopping and get everything I want except for TP, why should I have to go back to the store again just for TP? This article sums it up pretty good:

I posted this yesterday because my son went shopping and could not get any TP. Why people need even a 2 month supply of TP much less a 6 month supply is beyond me. Unless you are planning on staying home that long without trips to get groceries leave some TP for the rest of us. There is no shortage other than from the people that feel that huge amounts of TP will keep them secure/safe.
