After a bit of a hiatus in 2008 for a little thing called LDRS 27, AIRFest 15 marks the return of KLOUDBusters premiere regional launch to the Argonia, Kansas Rocket Pasture September 4-7, 2009.

This year our familiar Labor Day weekend event will offer 2 days commercial-only flying and 2 days TRA Research - offering all Tripoli members the flexibility to bring out their TRx projects on either Friday or Monday.

Discounted Flyer fees of just $35 for the entire 4 days are available if you pre-register. Your flyer registration includes the Saturday evening Burger Blast on-site event. The Pre-Registration deadline for AIRFest 15 is Thursday August 20, 2009.

Our waiver for the entire event will be 34,500' AGL. Projects expecting to exceed 23,000' AGL must obtain prior approval from the KLOUDBusters Board. High altitude submissions must be made 30 days prior to launch (August 4, 2009). A link to the form and other details are on the web-site.

Join us for our premiere launch event Labor Day weekend and enjoy the high waiver and wide-open recovery area offered in South Central Kansas. Past launches at Argonia have seen rockets of all shapes and sizes, up through and including 'Q' impulse projects. Many memorable launches such as Honest John, Aurora, Redstone (X 2), Delta III, the Cow, the Beast, Wildman, Jupiter-C and Pershing II have all taken to the Kansas skies. Will you be here to witness the next chapter in Argonia folklore?

With AIRFest 15 fast approaching, some important deadlines are even closer. More details for each may be found at https://www.kloudbusters.org/airfest/

1) Flights planned above 23,000' AGL up to our waiver limit of 34,500' AGL must be reviewed and approved by the KLOUDBusters Board of Directors 30 days prior to the launch. We will accept applications until Friday 07-Aug-2009 for consideration.

2) The pre-registration deadline is 8/20/2009. Flyer fees are only $35 for all 4 days of the launch and include Saturday dinner cook-out. This is a substantial discount vs. on-site registration. Friday and Monday of AIRFest 15 are TRA Research days, Saturday and Sunday are Commercial - this adds lots of flexibility into the schedule for TRA members 18 years and older.

3) As always, volunteers for range duty are needed for all duties, all shifts, all days. There will be a raffle/prize drawing held ONLY for folks who serve as range volunteers. There are duties for people of all experience level and there will be some nice prizes given away donated by vendors and manufacturers via our Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) Partnership. Go to the Range Duty page of the web-site and send us your preferences to get on the volunteer list. Don't miss out!

We already have many folks from some far away places who have pre-registered and submitted some VERY COOL projects. Quite a large number of them are returning flyers who had experienced our Argonia Launch Site for the first time during LDRS 27 last year. AIRFest 15 is shaping-up to be the best AIRFest ever! We're going to have a large number of vendors on site as well.
