I finally launched my entry into the Slinky Oddroc Challenge: The Cygnus Probe Ship.

We used a F52-5C composite motor which, by design, has almost zero exhaust trail. Next launch will be with a F42-4 so it has a smokey trail to follow.

The rocket sustained minimal flight damage and lost an outrigger, but nothing major. I think the nose cone broke off the outrigger at ejection because the outrigger was not located, and is now an offering to the Gods of Vertical Thrust.

PSA: No Slinky's were maimed or died as a result of this outing.

Quite the exciting launch.

My slinky rocket remains unflown. I forgot to take it to Ocktoberfest. One of my neighbors wants to fly some. I'll probably launch it at home. I would like to have a good camera there to record the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. I might just have a whole launch with nothing but Oddrocs.
