I would love to see that in paint (even if all the same color)... right now the color contrast between the white nose and the brown BTs is blocking my ability to properly see the 3D structure of the whole thing.

Either way, that is an impressively crazy thing.

Started the CAD model of the Thunderfighter.... for being such an exotic looking rocket, the construction is really pretty simple.

Given your recent dabbling with nature with the Columbine and your lathe mastery, could you imagine an Acorn, maybe with four big oak leaves for fins? you could call it, “Scrat’s Dream”.
I'm not sure you could make the nut long enough.... but... "I'm On It, Like A Duck On A June Bug"

Cockpit Nose Cone - Wood Turning

Turned the Cockpit Nose Cone.... and updated the simulation. Changed up the pod nose cones.

Fins and Ballast

Cut the fins from 1/4" plywood. Installed the upper fins and added 3/16" dia. dowels to the lower fins.

Prepped the body tubes for the ballast by adding bulkheads to each tube. The lower section of the tube will be used for an altimeter. Wrapped the 3/4" dia. ballasts with tape. These will be used to locate the ballast in the tubes, then wood glue added around the forward sections to lock them in place.
