And they've never shown footage of the Falcon making the famous run. So I ask again, what makes you think that the hyperspace effect (originally old fashioned opticals) wasn't surrounding the shup the whole way? (Also, Han doesn't say in A New Hope that he made that run, only that the Falcon did.)
Please see the movie they made out of it. (Solo)

I think that's a bit too much of a nitpick. He introduces himself as the captain of the ship, and then introduces the ship as the one that made the record-setting Kessel Run when he is asked how fast it is, heavily implying he made that run.

What movie? Probably some dumb fan fiction. 🙃

Ann C. Crispin's Han Solo Trilogy is a far superior story. His record Kessel Run is in the trilogy, but I can't remember if it was in the second or third book.

@lakeroadster aren't you glad you changed the name of this rocket? ;)

I always liked the theory (old and obsolete, I suspect, but I don't care) that Han's comment was intended to show him just blustering without knowing what he was talking about. It's kind of hard to defend if you think about it too hard but I like it anyway.

I have read it twice,image.jpg
I think that it’s basically the same story at the core they added a stupid space monster but that’s my only complaint.

I disagree. It's established in The Empire Strikes Back that Han got the ship from Lando, so if he's bragging about the ship there's no reason to assume the run was not made by Lando.

If you think it's the same story, you need to get your head examined.

Arguing Star Wars ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise terminology we could (...) accidently engage with a supernerd and that'd end your thread real quick, wouldn't it?"

I'm here, and the thread is still going, so...

Also, Wookiees are just long-lived. Chewbacca's canonical age in Episode 4 is 206 years.
Who's 206 Years? Does every planet in the Star Wars universe have the same orbit *exactly*? Maybe Chewie is 206 years old, but it turns out that his home planet orbits the sun every 4 days compared to Tattooine, which orbits it's twin stars every 10452 days....

What's all this Star Wars gibberish? Aren't we supposed to be discussing heavy bullet proof ply, glues used and how to confirm stability? Safety first and impeccable building techniques?

Did this Issac Hannaford guy even do Star Wars? Who started all this Star Wars nonsense? Ban them from the thread! I need real life, hard core rocket science, not some pop culture, science fantasy dream boat. :)

It is the Bismarck's little escort friend the Priz Eugen. A lucky ship. A real dream boat diving experience today.

It was and old Heller model kit I had had on the shelf for awhile so why not a PMC. Oddrocs rock!

Now back to more not Star Wars star fighters with plywood construction and rear eject!

Saturn is right behind it, and there's Rhea in the background. Rhea is 1,527 meters in diameter.
It's larger than the Millennium Falcon, but the scale is similar.
Ahhh, thanks, that helps immensely.

Okay, so in perspective it’s about 15x larger than Rhea. So about 22,905 meters.

That’s a BIG ship. No wonder I can’t see the presumably tiny viewports.

Even bigger if I compare it to Saturn!

"NO STEP" on the wing implies something along the lines of a 20th or 21st century fighter plane or possibly as large as a bomber. Assuming the writing is scaled to be read by someone likely to step there, I get the impression of something the size of a large fighter. (Adjust scale to the size of whatever species is supposed to work on it... although if not humans, why would it be in English?)

Come to think of it, if this is a Star Wars vessel, why is it in English at all? And what is it doing so far from its home galaxy?

Why 20th or 21st century? No English language in the future? Could be 10,000 years in the future, or 50 years.

Took off a week to visit the Earthlings. Could have taken any ship, this was his favorite.
What, he can't take off a week?

Sorry, I was talking about the size, not the era of the vessel. I don't want to make assumptions about how big fighters and bombers will be next century and beyond...
