I have a 38/240 and a 38/360 in desert fire, I believe... I'll dig them up. I have a Millenium 38/1080 and a Green 38/1080, but I don't think you're looking for those.

I’d be interested in a 38/240 and 38/360 in Desert Fire.

Hi, didn't know where to ask this question, but figured you guys posting here would know. I have a single use fiberglass case with the used nozzle I found somewhere. It has an inner diameter of 64 mm an outer diam of 69 mm. It's length is 549 mm. I wanted to know what size motor it is. J, k or other. And what brand if anyone knows. Here are a couple of pictures.

CTI 76mm 4 grain L-M range

That's a spent liner and nozzle

Thanks, didn't know it was a liner. Should have known that thin fiberglass tube couldn't hold the pressure. Plus there was no way to lock in the nozzle. That would be in the aluminum casing. Duh ! Just something someone was going to throw away. Thought I could use the tube as a body tube. Thanks again for the info,
Joe

Now that I've got the case, hopefully I can find a G69 and G339 somewhere. I've always wanted to try those motors out in a short fat rocket. Looks like BMS has some.

Here's another recent addition:

Manufactured in 1991 and serial #102. Now my oldest and lowest serial number Aerotech case

And now the 2 side by side:

The short cases are always pretty comical. What's the 38/120 called? The shot glass case? Now to just find one in blue or red to complete those collections...

I think it would be cool if someone who had all 6 shorties posted a pic with them all in series. I don't have a 1 grain 75 or 98.

I might be able to do that…. Might not be today. We’ll see.

@DabCat I mean, I could throw in the 18/20 & 24/40, but then we’d be at 7… :dontknow:
Thanks for sharing!

I qualified the 24/40 since there is a larger case in that size, so it would technically be a shorty. A 24/20 would be pretty cool, but deffinately far from practical or usefull.

What's up with the blue Aerotech case? I've seen a few and some in red too. When and why were those made?

Well, if you want I could do another…
The blue case is a Rouse Tech. They made cases for a few years after Dr Rocket quit. I have a few here & there. No full sets of blue tho… 🤔
Not yet anyway. ;)

Rouse tech made cases with the Aerotech logo on them? I thought they were all just the monster logo. Pretty interesting. I'm still working on my 38mm blue set. Just need a 120, 240, 360, and 1080. If anyone out there has one of these and wants to sell some (or trade) hit me up! Not gonna even bother with 29. I've got no blue 29s 😢.

Oh, no. Never really paid attention to that case I guess…
That case is an enigma surrounding a mystery under a cone of silence… :p

Both the G69 and G339 are on the discontinued list from Aerotech. I still have a few in stock.

Had to look at it several times to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me... is that blue one misprinted or something? It's clearly too long to be a 54/852...

54/852 XL 😂
But you can’t let the pretty blue go to waste. I probably should have my friend with the ✌️Laser✌️print the correct info on the other side.
Yes, that’s a thinly veiled Austin Powers reference… ;)

Tier list of my longest 38mm motor casings. From left to right: Kosdon 38/1116, Loki 38/1200, Aerotech 38/1320, CTI 38 6 grain XL, APS 10 grain, Aerotech 38/1080, Syner-jet 38/720, Aerotech 38/720.

Apart from a Gorilla, a US rockets case, and an Ellis case (or any of the hybrids or custom casings) and a bunch between the 1080 and 720, I believe these are the longest 38mm casings ever made?

Also, BUMP. I want to see more casing pictures! Show us your casings!

Commercially I believe you are correct, unless you count the Binder design 16 grain case as commercial. Comes in at 32"... ill post a picture in the AM.

I think I've got you beat... Kosdon 38/2000. About 41.75"

Wow! First time I've seen a photo of the Kosdon 38/2000 next to the 38/1200 Loki case! I have a carbon fiber Dave Triano Raven 3 rocket he made for that crazy long case. I've flown it at BALLS several times on the Loki K627, and I thought that was a long motor! No wonder there is so much extra room in the fin can.

I can't image the grain and core design of a motor that long. That would be a challenge for sure.

38mm Kosdon K motor. I heard a rumor that there may be reloads for it. Sitting in a little zip loc baggy... Ready to be flown...
