Used to be a fair shot when I could see.
Bought a stock military surplus AK Vietnam issue with folding stock and short barrel [18in. ?] The Chinese made several thousand AK's chambered for captured US ammo, this was 5.56 rather than standard 7.62
Mounted surplus 4x scope. [25 bucks]
shot from 200yds after sight in at 25yd.
X shot was just to put on on the paper. 85 degrees and the barrel heats up rapidly as you all know, hindering accuracy. Did not wait 5 minutes between shot like I should have when sighting in.
First 5 bit low I was sighting in and adjusting. all shot groups numbered and circled.
2nd 5 on the money but I pulled a bit. These were fired from simple sand bag/rest
3rd group off hand, leaning on post at diamond low left. Any on 'em would be kill shots.
Not bad for a clunky military issue short barrel weapon. When finished barrel so hot you could not touch. Sizzled when spit on.
Had not touched a gun in 15yrs, went shooting with my Glock .45 carry pistol last year in Chi town. [model 21] has over 50,000round through it.
Warm up 1 clip. Then rapid fire standing 2nd 12 round clip. Not bad for 68yr old blind man at 25yrd. Back in the day you could cover that group with a quarter.
Always wanted to shoot one of those fancy accurate weapons. But I sleep well knowing I can center shot an intruder, due to years of muscle memory repetition.
But I did get to go "Elvis" that time to a TV on TV....LOL
