What aspects *aren't* a work in progress?

The name seems pretty solid.

I'm not sure, the Rocket seems to be the weak part of the name ;)

And if the program doesn't "Open"...

All kidding aside, since @H. Craig Miller helped me to get the program installed correctly I've run a lot of scratch build designs through 22.02, and some verification rockets also, and the program seems to be nearly flawless.

I'm always leery of installing any "upgraded" software versions, but this one's a winner.

I had something similar but the folder names were a little bit different. I copied things over into the C:\Program Files, so things would look more similar to the properties panel shown above and also have the Open Rocket executable be in the same folder as the other associated files, but things still don't work. For the moment I can use the work-around that Neil provided in Post #279. Here is the properties panel and the folders where I have things currently saved.

OpenRocket-22.02.beta.02-Windows is indeed the name of the installer. Somewhere (since you've moved directories around I don't know just where -- the default location would be C:\Program Files\OpenRocket\) you should have a file just called OpenRocket.exe. That's the one you want to point your desktop shortcut to.

Yes, thanks, Joe, that was the problem. I just simply changed the name of the installer to one of the names that said OpenRocket.

Hi TRF colleagues,

I would like to be clear on this issue, please: To run the latest version of OpenRocket, do you need to have Java installed on your computer?

Thank you.

Hi TRF colleagues,

I have this question, please.

How much disk space is required for a full installation of the latest version of OpenRocket? I would use one of the packaged installers.

Thank you.

Stanley

Hi TRF colleagues,

Just before I install the newest beta version of OR, I would please like to make sure about these two issues:
  • If I click on the Post #233 on page 8, I am downloading the correct file. Is that correct?
  • I have OR Version 15.03, which works beautifully on my PC. I can download the latest version and be able to run either version. Is that correct?
Thank you.

Stanley

Hi TRF colleagues,

I am just beginning to use OR version 22. I am finding the following issue right away:

Side View and Back View work fine. However, 3D Figure, 3D Unfinished, and 3D Finished often disappear as soon as I click on any one of those choices.

Can I fix this?

Thank you.

Stanley

Did download and installed latest to Win8.1 PC.
Upon opening OR I get "Error upon thrust curve import". with a box "Loading motors" show activity. These never finish and close on their own.
Clicking Close on the Error box, OR then opens and seems to run correctly.
Seems like nothing to be concerned about.

New features look interesting and will be playing with this.

Thanks for everyone's effort.
