Hey, MS Windows is a work in progress else we wouldn't get all these updates and patches. A labor of love is a tough row to hoe. I think OR is fantastic!Anyway, as I say: this aspect of the program (like many others ) is a work in progress.
I've been gone for a while here, but I'm not the one who signed off on your L1.Wait... Is that Winston? The dude who signed off on my L1? Woah!!! Welcome Back!!!

I'm not sure, the Rocket seems to be the weak part of the name
You're not Wilson Alness? D'Oh!!!I've been gone for a while here, but I'm not the one who signed off on your L1.
I just had this earlier today and haven’t figured it out yet.I downloaded OR version 22 and created shortcut on the desktop. Every time I click on the shortcut it proceeds to install OR again. What am I doing wrong?

Just open the Start menu and type “open”… it should be there.

Yes. I did that. The instructions for creating a shortcut are on the OpenRocket.info pages for Windows 2022 Beta After Installation Checks at: OpenRocket Installation Instructions for Windows
Yes, thanks, Joe, that was the problem. I just simply changed the name of the installer to one of the names that said OpenRocket.OpenRocket-22.02.beta.02-Windows is indeed the name of the installer. Somewhere (since you've moved directories around I don't know just where -- the default location would be C:\Program Files\OpenRocket\) you should have a file just called OpenRocket.exe. That's the one you want to point your desktop shortcut to.
No. Use one of the packaged installers and you're good to go.Hi TRF colleagues,
I would like to be clear on this issue, please: To run the latest version of OpenRocket, do you need to have Java installed on your computer?
Thank you.
Stanley
Good. Thank you.No. Use one of the packaged installers and you're good to go.
Roughly 190 MB on my Mac, should be about the same on Windows or Linux. How much disk space is required for a full installation of the latest version of OpenRocket? I would use one of the packaged installers.

- If I click on the Post #233 on page 8, I am downloading the correct file. Is that correct?
- I have OR Version 15.03, which works beautifully on my PC. I can download the latest version and be able to run either version. Is that correct?
