Beautiful day here, so...Rode bike 70 miles. Went to library and out for wings/pizza lunch with family. Mounted and wired inside head of new garage ductless mini split. Grilled tuna steaks for dinner.

So. Very. Tired.
Did you have to get a Permit for this project?

Worked on the push mower. Y'know, maybe I ought to properly service it more than once a decade.
Spent yesterday waiting for the repair guys to get back to me about fixing my zero-turn mower.

Today, Round Up-ed the sidewalk and back porch. Those ritzen-fratzen weeds seem to be able to grow anywhere. The ones in the cracks of the pavers had to get through 4" of old concrete, half an inch of sand below the pavers, and the 2" of sand between the pavers.

If they come back Imma use the big gun: sodium chlorate solution. The nitrate ion, (NO3)- is very similar in size and shape, and has the same charge, as (ClO3)-. But plants are stupid and suck up chlorate, thinking it's nitrate.

There is at least one documented case of a fellow who used it to kill weeds. Hung his wet overalls in front of a fire to dry. Instant bigger fire!

More board games with my wife. This one is called Brave New Worlds and is about exploring the Solar System, sending orbiters, landers, and crewed spacecraft to different bodies. Major and more distant bodies are worth more points. It was looking good for me with my Jupiter balloon probe racking up tons of points, but my wife's landing of a crew on Charon got her enough points to end the game with a come-from-behind victory.

That seems at least somewhat rocketry related 🤣

To be honest, I have no idea. Wasn’t a problem last time, but I probably should have then as it involved adding a 220 breaker. This time it was just pull out old unit, hook up new. The wall mounting plate was even the same.

I placed and wired the outside unit today. Also ran the line set. Will call HVAC guy Tuesday for line set hook up, leak test and commissioning. Got done earlier than I though, and it was a cool day, so I took a long run (13.4M).

I’m really fighting the urge to take a nap right now.

Edit - No nap was had. Ended up taking the boys to the park for some “intense“ games of H-O-R-S-E. Then smoked some Iowa cut pork chops for dinner. Now approaching full meat coma.

Yesterday was more painting of skirting boards and architraves and window reveals. Have run out of paint to complete the job so I need to order it and do click-and-collect at the hardware store. Shopping in person is currently verboten, as we (entire State) are in Lockdown 4.0 due to a spike in covid cases. We had a leak from hotel quarantine and have about 51 cases known and around 13000 close contacts in isolation so far. Lockdown scheduled to end on Thursday evening but there is a good chance it will be extended unless the numbers plummet. They usually like two incubation periods of no cases.

Slept a bit. Went to go see Godzilla vs. Kong with the XYL. Enjoyed the movie, but not overly thrilled with some of the plot decisions. I'll live, though.

Enclosing my carport on my workshop to get it ready for my printer farm. Goal is to house 15-20 printers with a mix of:
  1. Prusa Mini: 4
  2. Prusa Mk3S: 4
  3. Prusa XLs: 2
  4. Anycubic Chiron: 1-2
  5. Anycubic Predator: 1-2
  6. SeemeCNC BossDelta: 1
  7. Prozen SLA Printers: 2
I would also like a CNC machine and laser cutter.

It is a dream.

More tabletop gaming with the wife. This time we played one with a less educational bent. X-odus: Rise of the Corruption is a co-op space fantasy where players each captain a spaceship and work together to defeat an evil force from another dimension called the Corruption. We played on a lower difficulty because it was our first time, but we still got pretty lucky, barely outrunning the Corruption's chief minions, known as the Avatars, to seal the main rift and win the game.

Contemplated our language. If the plural of Ox is Oxen, then the plural of Fox should be Foxen. Also Box - Boxen.

And a baby Duck is a Duckling, so a baby Dog should be a Dogling.

And a person born on Earth is an Earthling, so a Duckling is prolly someone born on a Duck.

And a Changeling is someone on a tight budget.

This is why I'm not writing kit instructions today.

If a vegitarian eats vegtables, what does a humanitarian eat?

English is a Germanic-form language. You're right about the plural form(s).. However, there's another issue. If you have a bunch of the same kind of box, they're called "boxes". If you have a bunch of *different* kinds of boxes, they are still called boxes. Some Nordic languages would refer to a bunch of different objects of the same type by putting "en" after the name so boxes would become boxen if they're all different.

Pacifists.

Makes perfect sense to me. I now declare the day after Christmas 'Boxen Day', 'cause all the presents were in different sized boxes.

My observation comes from computer geek-talk. Computers of different types/brands are frequently referred to as "boxen", different types of pointing devices as "mousen", etc.

English is to languages as bar-mat-juice is to cocktails.

If peanut oil is made from peanuts, and corn oil from corn, then baby oil is OHHH NOOOOOOO!
