In the early 1970s, I remember trying to fill the balsa strakes after the rings were glued on. Hard to do under the rings.
If I were to build another, I'd fill the balsa grain before gluing it together.

Nice addition to the line up. Was hoping for an upscale to BT55, BT60 but I guess I'll have to wait. In the meantime I have the Semroc version that's been waiting to be built for 10+ years.

Me too! But for a different reason! I forgot to glue the motor adapter in place, and I was really impressed with the fire coming out from the rear end! I though it must be the way the back end was designed, or something (I was under 14 years old...). Then it gets back to the ground... with UNBROKEN fins, by the way - and about two inches of body tube is completely burned away! Starlight was my first (and so far only) "one and done" rocket!
