I've mentioned many times about the speeds we drive here. I'm sure those of you that live in densely populated areas, like the East Coast, Think driving at the speeds we drive are crazy and dangerous. Saturday on the way back to Pahrump I thought I would take some pictures of the road I drive back to Pahrump on. I'll try to comment for each picture again. But it hasn't worked in the past.
st pic. This is part of Red Rocks. This is before the pass. It's the only curvy part of the road.
nd pic. This is after the pass. The road is straight for 10 miles then there is the only curve on the road.
rd pic. This is after the curve. the road is straight for 25 miles. The traffic is typical. Very light.
th pic. This a little farther along.
th pic. Coming into Pahrump. The highway changes from two lanes in each direction to one in each direction.
th pic. I turn onto this road from the highway going home. It's straight for 12 miles.
th pic. BMS. 5 minutes from our house.
th pic. Last road before I turn onto the street we live on. It's straight all the way to the mountains.
th pic. Across the street from our house.
th pic. Our little oasis in the desert. 1 acre with about 9000 square feet of grass and about 100 tress and shrubs.
Now you can see why we drive the speeds we do. Straight roads for miles and very little traffic.
