With my right diaphragm muscle being inactive due to losing all the nerves that operate it, by having Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, that left my right lung pretty much worthless...and my left lung is working halfway as a lot of the nerves and muscles in the core of my body are being destroyed, so I am only able to generate 25% of my normal inhale and exhale pressure. So with breath being the soul source of life.....I take my lungs pretty seriously. As more nerves die off i will eventually have more trouble breathing and eventually have my blood oxygen levels keep dwindling down into the point i will not be able to stay alive. I'm not a believer in having a body being kept alive by a breathing machine, So I'm not going to have them keep me alive that way. When I get to the point of gasping for air, then we're going to get it arranged to have them just keep me wiped out with morphine or something of that sort. And just let me die of respiratory failure. Done, finished, a life well lived by human standards.
