Acquired an Estes Venus Probe without a good set of instructions. They are not on the Estes site with their archives. I need those mainly for the forward part including the nose and the landing gear assemblies. Planning a modification of the aft/motor tube assembly and there isn't much to worry about there anyway. It's pretty basic so I don't need that. If anyone has some laying around they can just email me as a pdf or otherwise please I will be very grateful.

Thank you,

Recommended mods.

This bird is underpowered on Estes C. Options are to modify it for a 24 mm D. (This is what I did, flies great) or now try the quest 18 mm Ds.

Also, the alien takes up a ton of room in the main body of the tube. I think it replaced the main tube with a longer tube, and still was able to get the ring is place that holds the legs of the lander folded for boost. This did two things. Mainly it provides more room for the laundry, but it also extends the length of the rocket, which keeps the stability margin for the heavier 24 mm motor.

Couldn’t find the plans on JimZ site (may have missed them, it’s the longest list)

this has a parts list and a RockSim file

Thanks for getting me that information! I will take a look and see what I can do to get the replacement parts I need. I messed up packing the recovery wadding by forgetting there was a second parachute. So the rejection charge melted the shoot for the rocket body and it did a nose dive!

as above, you CAN extend the forward body tube 6” or so, still move the ring for leg retention forward appropriately, and suddenly packing the alien, wadding, and chutes becomes a breeze. Adds very little weight, and as long as you’ve either modded for 24 mm motors or go to Quest D, the slight OVER-stability shouldn’t be a problem.
