It was an E11, they never blow up. Low pressure, wimpy. But this one dumped it’s guts 50 feet up. Blew the rear closure off and the casing now resides inside the airframe between the MMT and the baffle. Propellant slug recovered and burnt off.

Not upset lol. Had a great day flying with my brother.
 
Sorry to see that... It looks intact, but really what was the damage (if any)?
 
A good friend, Brian, gave me some very old reloads that belonged to his dad. I flew today. This happened.

That doesn’t look bad, actually it looks like it was just placed there for effect. I see no crumpling at all, especially with that hard ground. Did you stage this?🤪
 
Not staged. It pushed the nose cone into the airframe about a quarter of an inch. I trimmed it up. Then I had to cut the rocket in half to remove the rear-closure-less casing and forward closure. Used a coupler to put her back together.

Operational.
