OK
It is now T-165 days to the first flights at NERRF-II
Brought to you by:
METRA
NEPRA
CATO
CTRA/NARCONN
And anybody else I forgot (LIARS?, CMASS?)
Bobby B. Is the sort of chairman of this and he asked me to coordinate the info here on TRF. So please post anything you know in this thread. The NERRF-II info is not yet up to date on the website.
As of the moment here is the information I know:

As of the moment here is the information I know:
- June 23-25, 2006
- METRA Launch Site - Pine Island NY
- 12,000' AGL waiver for all three days
- Indy Format - Commercial and EX
- M impulse limit
- Like last year, there will most likely be two ranges plus an away cell.
- Saturday night there is a planned, catered BBQ
- Vendors, there will be vendors.
- Food will be on site. I expect the scouts will be there as will Nadine's hot dogs. The scouts do a mean breakfast!
- Sanitary facilities will be available
- I think the ARRL will be on site to help track rockets.
- Hybrids are OK - bring your own GSE
- Darn near every launch system you could want, from 1/8" to Unistrut is available. Last year some people tried bringing their own. Did not seem to be the best idea and I would personally discourage it except in the case of tower launchers.

I would liike to host a mini TRF gathering Friday night - let me know if you are interested. Probably at some pizza joint in Middletown.
Accomodations - I am starting negotiations with the Day's Inn on Routes 17 West & 6 which is no more than about 15 minutes from the field. If you are interested in getting accomodations there, let me know via e-mail and I will see if a group rate is available. If we advance pay, I see no reason we can't take the whole joint over. As it was last year, there will be no camping on site. If you want to camp, please let me know soon, so I can begin looking for some campgrounds. If you do want to camp, let me know via e-mail and tell me whether it is pup tent, pop-up, or RV. I'd like to find a place where we can get a volume buy.
Flammable Dirt - The dirt at the farm is actually closer to peat than dirt. It does burn and Sparkys will be regulated. I am pushing to see to it that we have appropriate fire suppression on site. Dennis Lappert posted elsewhere that we probably won't be able to flood the area to prevent fires.
Range Duty - Getting people to help was our weak point at NERRF I and it resulted in lost flight opportunities during periods while the LCO station was undermanned. I am proposing to the organizing comittee that each sponsoring club reserve a 1/2 day window and take resposibility during that period. To that end, I want to ask the TRF crowd who plan to attend to choose a period and we will handle things. How 'bout Sunday first rack to noon?
Flight line organization - this was our other weakness. I have a personal idea and will share more once we actually have some formal planning sessions.
Anybody from any club is welcome at the planning events, and I will post notice of these events here.
