Hello,

I'm trying to look for any resources online that have technical details about high powered rockets (or amateur rockets) that contain minor details about their rockets. I am trying to build my own rocket and would like to take into consideration the material used and dimensions.

Try “Modern High Power Rocketry” by Mark Canepa. Good resource for building your own high powered rocket with plenty of information a new flyer can use.
 
I started with viewing violent agreement then chunking it into Open Rocket with when I was learning how to design MD multistages for a school project.
We even referenced it in our engineering capstone project reports.

Violent agreement used longer motors to move center of gravity forward so three short fins could be used. That was the invaluable lesson to a new guy like me. When you put that rocket into a sim you too can play with different motor configurations. Just rambling.
 
This is the second post you've made to the forum, looking for advice about building a rocket.

Assuming that you are in the US, and that you are brand new to rocketry -- or brand new to high power rocketry -- start here:

https://www.nar.org/high-power-rocketry-info/ for the rules for flying high power rockets. These rules apply whether you certify with NAR or Tripoli. But you will need to certify before you can launch the rocket you are planning.

For the details of building the rocket:

Mark Canepa's book -- suggested by BrAdam above -- is not a bad place to start.

Mike Westerfield's Make: High Power Rocketry is also a good reference, with step-by-step instructions for building Level 1 and Level 2 certification rockets, together with some (terse) explanations of why Westerfield chose certain materials and construction techniques for those designs.

If aluminum construction or designing your own motors excites you, consider Tripoli. The membership must be renewed yearly, but they offer research launches. They also have international members. Both NAR and Tripoli are fantastic organizations and both recognize each other at launch sites.

This is another one of Adrian’s designs on a L-2 motor. A sustainer stage for a multistage rocket. If you want more multistage design articles I can dig those up just mention it.
