I am going to release the 54mm to start, right now I'm leaning toward a UHMW Nose cone for this size.
It will be CNC turned of course. I believe it to be a better product.

Awesome man! Does this kit still include all of the milled charge wells and that kind of thing? I assume so since they are pretty much standard fare for you.

I am in as well! Just hope the pocketbook can support it! Will see come Wednesday!

What is UHMW?<--But then, you know that's my natural state!

I ordered. It look like I going to have a Wildman version, BaddAzz Version drag race.

UHMW - Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene . From a quick Google search.

Great to see the Space Cowboy coming back!

Two thoughts that come to my mind regarding UHMW-PE:
It has a relatively low temperature resistance. For a rocket that is designed to fly Mach 2+, it might be borderline.
At least regular PE is not easy to paint and glue, how will UHMW-PE behave in this regard?

Reinhard

Reinhard,
It does have a low operating temp about 200f.
That is said you won't be about this long enough to cause damage in a 54mm rocket.

As far as painting goes it really easy. Just use a self etching primer. Or you can quickly take a cleaned nosecone and pass
a propane torch over it quickly. That will allow your paint to bond.
One thing I know is it won't come apart from the speed!

Good Question though.

I still wonder how you do it. I am in.

Chuck, I do it because I know how to manufacture. It is my day job.
I make my own stuff, I simply have decided not to make it for half price for someone else to profit from MY Work.
I tried, it was not worth the effort I put in it. I learned from it and I plan to keep moving forward.

Like I said, I will order from you stuff because of the high quality at a great price.

Eric,
I see the coming months mad money is going to take a big hit. That's 2 new rockets I need to get in on.

Eric,

Will the nose cone profile be a Von Karman, or parabolic (I am partial to the VK's)?

Regardless, it sounds like the kit will be spectacular.

Greg

I suggested to Eric that he find colored UHMR, that way paint is optional

If its not cost-prohibitive, offering people a color choice would be really cool

VK too. They are a steal for $250.

Eric: Have you though about having a parts section to your website to order railbuttons, ejection canisters, etc.

Yes, I am trying to get that organized too.
Hardwarzz: Rail buttonzz 1010,1515,and unistrut, canisterzz, Motor Retention And Adapterzz and Smarter Dezzenders.
Just a buttload of work and I'm Gonna get there!

It is a 5:1 VK! Nothing less for the Space Cowboy!

Wow. :eyepop:

Hmmmmm...

It is a great price for all that you get then. There is not doubt about that.

Maybe a bit premature, but I think this kit could become a legend.

Hmmmmm...

All those features.

Hmmmmm...

I think I need to check with my CFO about what the budget will take. Timing. Timing

Hmmmmm...

Greg
