RMS 54/1280 motor pricing

Seems to be a big discepancy between RMS 54/1280 motor pricing. Aerotech (AT) MSRP (as of 25 Feb 13) is $89.99. Can't find MSRP for Rouse Tech (AT). This appears to be well below the average list for other comparable 54mm motors. Does anyone know why?

Some vendors list the AT 54/1280 as high as $159.99 while others discount off MSRP down to as low as $72. For the RT 54/1280 the list varies up to $144.99 down to the same as AT.

Got a phone call from Bay Area Rocketry when recently trying to buy an RT 54/1280 motor (advertized $72 @ 20% off $89.99 list) and was told the price was way under cost and they could not afford to sell it at that price so the order was cancelled. Anyone successfully buy a Rouse Tech RMS 54/1280 motor at this price?

Either a heck of a sale or they mixed up the cost of the reloads. Performance hobbies has the low price on the website, but out of stock. The case alone is priced higher.

It was a L-2 special last year sponsored by AT.


Probably just un-updated websites. You could contact them to be sure, it may still be in effect.

Are you sure on that Aerotech price? I thought Aerotech no longer made 54mm and above hardware. Any stock being sold is probably left over. The price you are seeing might just be old out of stock pricing that hasn't been updated.
