That is a line of kits I would like to see come back but the hardwood nose cone put the nix on there return.
I would think the Laser Loc series would be fine with plastic cones. Always wanted the 3.1...looked great with that boat tail!
Right now I'm leaning bravado--first flight on three K400'ish EX motors.
Nice! That'd be a kick in the pants for sure! When I did the (4) 54-2550 sparky airstarts for the 3/4 Nike Smoke, I drilled the top 1.5" of the core to the same diameter as my Pyrodex pellets, then ignited using simple E-matches. Nice thing about using EX motors for clusters!
I have an original Mother Load, 7 1/2", real tall, 3 54mm motors.
I bought the kit with 3 K550 cases for $100!! 20+ years ago.
My friend Brandy assembled and painted it about the same time. It has never been launched but we are threatening to do it at BALLS now that we don't have to run the show.
It used to be we were afraid it would crash, now the altimeters, parachutes and recovery knowledge is much better so survival may happen.

Mark: nice! Another reason for me to try to get to Balls this year! That thing was/is a monster! Are the lower tubes 3" tubes with 54mm mounts in them? Like you said, no time like the present; get her in the air!
There was a Mother Load at LDRS that flew Friday. unfortunately recovey was with a trash bag. Jack Thompson from Ohio built just about all the custom LOC Kits. back then I could barly afford a PML Quasar and here comes Jack with his custom rocket rack in the back of his truck deciding which one to fly as I was drooling
I remember seeing photos of his collection at Danville launches; also remember seeing that a cluster of 3 AT J125's didn't quite go so well and ended up with a scrapped Mother Lode.
And so then there is one more MWP vintage participant!
I don't think Jack Thomson does rockets anymore. I purchased a trio of Aerotech/Loc 54/852 cases off of Ebay from him many years ago.
That's one plan. CTI 29 6xl H226 SK in the center and CTI 24 6 grain G100's SKD's in the outboards... Hmmm

I'll supply the thermalite!
I've got an LOC Ultimate Max from Bob Jablonski that I am putting the final touches on for this year, 7 38's most likely J425's
Gary, looking forward to (hopefully) seeing that fly! Memory check: did you pick up a Top Gun too? Side note: one of the coolest looking clusters I've ever seen lit all at once was a blend of reds on the inside and a smokies on the outside: killer unique look to it!
