I've been slow getting going on the project, but here are the first pics since I got the fin can together. The kit is a LOC Fantom 438 EXL with 6 extra 24mm airstarts added. The updates will be few and far between, but I'll try to keep putting up pictures. Hopefully this will be ready to fly this spring.

Time to lengthen the slots in the tube and test fit the can.

Well, I'm certainly not going to win any awards for a quick build. Only 2 weeks left until Mayhem. At this rate, I'll be lucky if she flies naked. Updated pictures at https://www.putfile.com/kfranzel/images/77902 .

Still need to fillet the fins, put together the recovery harness, and drill a few more holes for rivets, pressure relief holes, altimeter vents, etc, and mount the switch for the altimeter.

Mixed my first batch of West this weekend. Man, that's runny stuff when you're used to off-the-rack tube epoxy! Have to see how it goes with the microballoons for the fillets.

Fiberglass tubing from the local kite shop. It pays to snoop around the other hobbies!
