Yes, that's right. We have finished picking the prizes for Descon 14 and I'm not ready to go on to Descon 15, so...

I was busy pecking away at a new RMR Descon Archive Page which provides some statistics, interviews, top 2 winners of each Descon, etc and then (light bulb)...

How about a "Best of Breed" competition? Hence, RMR Descon 14 1/2.

https://www.rmrdescon.com

So, even though I want everyone to check out the NEW Archive Page, I have copied the top two winners of each Descon into the Entries page. In about two weeks, I will open up a voting booth and we can spend two weeks voting for the BEST OF BREED.

Hopefully over that (4) Week Period someone will come up with TWO OUTSTANDING prizes for this contest. If not, we understand.

Two more thoughts:

1) Descon 14 is now Archived on EMRR https://www.rocketreviews.com so go ahead and enter your flight logs

2) What are we going to do for Descon 15

2A) Would you still like me to administrate it? (I am the Walter Cronkite according to Bob Forture for Descon Administrators)

2B) Should it be themeless, that is what is up next, but I think in general people of thinking kitbash?

2C) Should it be open to ALL Onliners? I think so.

2D) Time frame? I'm suggesting 11/1/03 - 3/31/05

Oh, yes, and PLEASE tell me what you think of the new Archive Page

I vote for continuing the themed/unthemed cycle. 15 would then be unthemed. I'm already scheming :)

2A) Would you still like me to administrate it? (I am the Walter Cronkite according to Bob Forture for Descon Administrators)

Yes, of course. If someone else wants to arm-wrestle you for it, then we need a vote :).

2B) Should it be themeless, that is what is up next, but I think in general people of thinking kitbash?

No, unthemed this time.

2C) Should it be open to ALL Onliners? I think so.

rmr/non rmr is not a big distinction. IIRC there were previously entries submitted to Bob through third parties. The main difference is posting announcements in multiple places. I'm all for that.

OK with me!

That's amazing! What a great idea. Can we put a link to this thread in the Coffee House? I don't think this area gets enough traffic.

:D Of course!! I wouldn't say Walter Cronkite, though, how about Edward R. Murrow--way more flattering!
2B) Should it be themeless, that is what is up next, but I think in general people of thinking kitbash?
Stick with themeless for the next one. Kit Bash is a great idea for DESCON 16, though!
2C) Should it be open to ALL Onliners? I think so.
Absolutely! Get more TRF heavyweights involved too. How do they measure themselves against other rocketeers, by height?

Make that 11/1/04 -3/31/05. Plenty of long winter nights for development but slushy flights for us northerners...

Awesome. There are a lot of great rockets here!
