India successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3 this morning. It will be their second attempt to land on the moon, after Chandrayaan-2's Vikram lander failed in 2019. Arrival in lunar orbit is supposed to be August 5th and the landing on August 23rd.

Best wishes for success to ISRO.

The launch vehicle LVM3 GSLV mk III is a husky, fine looking machine.

Would be a fun modelling challenge. Too bad it doesn't have fins.

Great lookin' bird and best wishes to the mission.

It's got an unusual flight profile: The center core does not light on the ground, it lights at SRP sep! The solids work alone up to that point.

So far no signal from the lander after it has been in the sun for several Earth days following the end of Lunar night at its location. The cold probably spelled the end for the further use of the rover. Any such awakening would have been a bonus on top of the main mission objectives. Well done ISRO!
