How big of a motor are you going to use. I have flew K motors with 3d fin can a number of times never failed to yet. If done right I was no reason why a nose cone would fail.I have an OpenRocket file but I wouldn’t trust a printed nose this size and how much power I put in it.
Hojo is particularly well suited to this as it can easily be printed to take a length of glue-in coupler.
But nobody sells an 18” coupler anymore which is what it needs to run the length of the nose and act as a shoulder.
Balsa Machining also sells 34in couplersPublic Missiles and Always Ready Rocketry sell full-length couplers. I bet you can special-order one in paper or fiberglass from somewhere too.
The original used two 4 inch plastic nose cone cut and glued together. I actually got my level one cert on one in 2001. They were probably PML nose cones. The kit would be very easily cloned.
Nose cone shoulderThe bottom half has a lip like a boattail that connects to the upper half.
