Building my Supernova today for an impromptu launch tomorrow. I've seen enough two-stagers fly to know that I'm happy getting it on discount. :D

    Quinstars fly great on D12's.

Just returned with my haul: Commanche-3, Expedition, Protostar, Sky Warrior, Quinstar, Supernova, and Goblin.
7 kits for $41.41 (with tax). Felt like a kid in a candy store.

Make the trek to Hobby Lobby today. Nothing rocket related on clearance. I'll check back in a few days and see if the situation changes.

I stopped in 2 Hobby Lobby stores this week and found the Quinstar on clearance but none of the other rockets were. I agree, 24 mm is the way to go. I need to check back again as I really want a Protostar.

I picked up a Expedition, Quinstar, and ProtoStar today, looks like several hooks were already emptied like the Comanche3 and Supernova. The only thing they have left on clearance is a Wacky Wiggler Starter Set for $7.49.

I built one stock and the performance was decent on a C6-0 but a D12 should be really cool.:)

The Quinstar was the only rocket I saw on clearance as well. Are you sure you didn't sneak down here without telling me Harold???;)

Actually, we were down a couple of weeks ago for some mangos but no way my wife would let me play with rockets. We have a store in Ocala and another one in Gainesville.

Do it. My Quinstar has many excellent flights on D12-0s. I tried to make sure that there were decent fillets anywhere two pieces of balsa came near each other, but that was it. You can always fly a C6-0 in an adapter if desired.

Yes, but fortunately HL stickers use temporary glue and come off easily and cleanly.

Went back to my HL earlier and scored the Wacky Wiggler set for $7.49. That was the last of the rockets on clearance.

I will say I like the new red Porta Pad better than the older black. It will be easier to see in grass.

Stopped at a HL today, discontinued items were long gone except for a Quinstar @ 4.99 and a Wacky Wiggler launch set @ 7.49. I grabbed both and was looking at regular stock items when I noticed a guy with an Estes instruction set in one hand and a puzzled look on his face. Turns out he had built the kit with his kids and, having no other experience with model rocketry, was there to get whatever else they needed to go flying. I helped him pick a few items, wadding, engines, and realized the only launchpad in the store was the one I was holding under my arm. I gladly offered it to him and at first he said he couldn’t take it but eventually did when I told him I would be happier knowing he and his kids would get to fly this weekend than if I had one more box in the build/supply pile. Hopefully more future Model Rocketeers in the making!

That was a nice thing to do to help a family enjoy our hobby. Thank you.

My local hobby lobby here in town was pretty wiped out on clearance items, but they did have 3x commanche-3 kits left for 5.49

Picked one up, most likely will part it out to ressurect some dead rockets, for 5 bucks the parts alone are worth that.

The engine mounts and couplers will definitely find a home in some other projects, and the nose cone will go into the bits box, for a future scratch build..

By the way I made it back to pick up the last 2 Commanche 3, figures one for parts one to fly, was hoping there was a wacky wiggler left, my 3 year old would get a trip out of that.

Made the 45min. trip Fri. and scored 4 Quinstars(left 2 behind) and 1 Protostar. No C3's, Goblins or Skywarriors were left. I also left behind an Expedition and 2 launch sets. My earlier Quinstar was modified for 24mm and flew w/ a C6-0 and adapter at KloudBusters Sat.

Scored a Protostar on Monday. Being a scale guy, it's not really my cup of tea but a 29.99 kit for 7.49? Couldn't pass it up, lol! Who knows what might be hiding on the package/ Maybe a Hawk?

The other things we found today was a Midwest adjustable miter box for my razor saw at $1.99 (regular $7.99) and a set of X-acto blades for 74-cents (regularly $2.99)!

I joined in on the Hobby Lobby rocketry-clearance fad that I keep seeing posted lol. Hit up 2 local stores and picked up $191.91 worth of rockets for $48.91. How can a rocketeer resist!

Man... I went to the Salem, Oregon Hobby Lobby today. No rockets on clearance whatsoever!

I walked away with one pack of F15-6 motors for 40% off and felt pretty good.

My curiosity got the better of me after seeing many posts in different groups of hauls of airbrushes, and plastic models. Most of which was stuff I do not need, but I had time today and made the 35 minute trek to the Hobby Lobby in Leesburg VA. There were no models or airbrushes on clearance, and there were no engines on clearance, but I saw 1 goblin for $4.49 ... The goblin is probably my favorite Estes rocket so I bought it and I was out of the store for less than $5.00 with tax. I want to say that is less than a typical rocket kit when I was in the hobby for the first time in 1987-89.

So after my initial score two weeks ago, I stopped in the local Hobby Lobby again and found two Wacky Wiggler launch sets in the clearance section: retail price $29.99...clearance price $7.49! I grabbed them both...how can you beat 2 rockets, two electron beams, 2 pads, and 2 launch rods for $15. My kids will get a kick out of these.

Me and the kids love Hobby Lobby. We take full advantage of the 40% coupon every time! About a month ago they started there clearance here. Like kids in a candy factory, we walked out with a half basket of rockets, paint, rubberband planes, pine car derby kits, etc. The rockets were $4.74 ea. (Super nova, expedition and Comanche) everything else around a $1. We've been having pine car races with engines taped on the back. You talk about FUN (Don't worry we're under adult supervision at all times)!! Also, on the balsa at the HL's around here they don't rotate their stock so sometimes on the bottom it's marked cheaper. And the pieces that are kind of busted on one end, they'll practically give it away if you ask. Ex. 3/16x6x36" $0.50 is hard to beat. I just realized my post was getting kinda long. Sorry!
