    Majestic

    I built this one..way too heavy for a D and forget about a C. It's built for 29mm. I'd love to put a G80 in it but don't think it's solid enough.

    FLISKITS is Back

I just visited your site. I'm having a very hard time with the micro-sized photos of different rocket models. I have expanded out CTRL + as far as I can and it's still not adequate. I'm one of those who is VERY visual. If I can't see it well enough, It impacts my purchasing decision, which means...

Whats the biggest 'oops' you have made building a rocket?

Got a Loc Precision kit build started, got the fins on, got MMT installed, added a ejection charge baffle, glued that in, put on the body tube..and then saw the shock cord laying in a pile. Dammit! Cut the body tube right above the charge coupler, installed the shock cord, added another coupler...

    Star Orbiter - Should I or shouldn't I?

I'm saving up the cash to get the Jolly Logic Chute Release as chasing rockets that deploy chutes at 2100+ feet isn't a lot of fun. I do put spill holes in the chutes and that helps a lot. I've done 3 variations on the Star Orbiter. One is over 5 feet long and CAN be triple-staged (but not...

    Star Orbiter - Should I or shouldn't I?

No they don't. I should clarify this - I utilize the retainer screw-on cap for the sustainer if I want to fly it single stage, but DO leave it off for the booster. The epoxied threaded part of the retainer does remain on the sustainer and the booster fits right over it. I thought about just...

    Star Orbiter - Should I or shouldn't I?

I saw this post just recently in an issue of Sport Rocketry. I built the booster specifically utilizing the 29 mm retainers and they worked perfectly. I didn't have to grind or sand anything to fit. The booster coupler does indeed clear the (sustainer) retainers without any issue so don't...

A Flaming Rocket-Is it as Stupid as it Sounds?

This is simply demented. I think y'all guys got trolled and bit hard on the bait. No, just NO. No flames, no fire, nothing flammable. Just use LED lights and/or a mylar streamer. I can't believe I actually wasted time reading this silly thread. Insane in the membrane..

    Jolly Logic AltimeterTwo placement?

Well, that is the one issue preventing me from going to G motors - that it might be too high, chute is deployed at high altitude, drifts and I never see it again. I could do my old trick on previous cheap Estes chutes, cutting a quarter-sized hole at top of chute so it doesn't drift as far (it...

    Jolly Logic AltimeterTwo placement?

I'm probably going to do similar installation to the nosecone. I do have an installed ejection charge baffle midway on the Star Orbiter so that will help keep it protected. I think the clip mount might be more suitable for a payload bay. I have gotten two of the Star Orbiter kits - one complete...

    Jolly Logic AltimeterTwo placement?

Just got an AltimeterTwo and was curious to see how and where it's installed in your rocket. I know I can clip it to the nosecone or put it into a payload bay. Does anyone have a preference on where they placed it? I'm planning on using it initially in an Estes Star Orbiter (BT-60 tube) but it...

FIRE PROOF - Super-Material That Can Be Made In The Kitchen (a form of Starlite?)

Just saw this video..blew me away. Can it really be this simple? 3 simple ingredients. This could be rolled out to a burrito shape and a chute inserted inside. This bears further investigation.

    What the wife doesn't know...

Southern Colorado at 8000 feet. Sangres de Cristo mtns out my frontdoor at 14K. Yes, we be very cold here. Snow everywhere, but at least it's starting to melt here in patches. I can at least get to my shed's front door without boots. Man oh man, just had to be a BAR beginning in late Sept of...

    What the wife doesn't know...

Uh no. Wives can always tell when something's up. This ain't gonna work. Sigh, I do get it tho. Heating up my shed with a space heater (which can take a while to do at 28 degrees). I haven't been able to do any epoxy work the last few weeks. Too darned cold. Forget painting too.

    Rocket Powered Matchbox cars

Seems even a rocket engine wired to a kids car needs a guide to go by. I wonder what this would do if launched off a rod straight up? (LOL!)

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Sugar Motor thread

Nope! I do my own research independent of this board on Ex motors and have been for many months. It would have been NICE to have seen what others are talking about but apparently we aren't supposed to "go there". Either way, I do my own thing on this.

    Sugar Motor thread

Clicking on this link leads to no where. "It's dead, Jim". This is probably why so many jumped on this thread when they saw action on it in our email notifications. This was the 3rd time I've seen it listed, clicked on the link and it goes back to the forums, only.

How To Build A Wireless Launch Controller

I've read through these old wireless launch controller threads and was determined to build something that would work. It's only for my own personal launch, not for a club, or kids. This actually turned out to be way easier than I imagined. I grabbed one of the dozens of 12 v latched relays you...

Jolly Logic Chute Release, chutes not inflating....

These are very nice. I've been debating whether to use a CR or actual deployment bag but this sled looks like it would be easy peasy to slide out the CR. Does it work well for you? Looks like the bees knees :-)
