Where's the Beef?

They grew a Hamburger! Don't that beat all!:surprised:

I keep thinking, "When is there going to be "Soylent Green"?"

I'll be impressed when they grow chicken fajitas. with guacamole.

Don't laugh. They're woking on that too. An article in my engineering magazine said that in the long-term, they're trying to make 3D food "printers" that would work sort of like the food stations on Star Trek.

Do you know what's in YOUR hamburger? Better yet, do you know what's in that fast food burger you eat a lot? If any of you has ever ground your own burger from say, chuck roast, you can tell that it taste like nothing you can buy already ground. Justa word up. Get a meat grinder! Make your own!

Deb and I were talking the other night and decided there needed to be another meat to eat---this just might fit the bill---not quite chicken --not quite beef or pork--no fishy residue, this might just fill that void I've had for so long---sort of Porbeekenish---Yum

But how does it go with marshmellons?

Yes I do know whats in my burger. Its ground at the local store made from fresh meat(s).
Now,what that fresh meat was fed ,that I have no idea.
I do not do fast food.
I cant say NEVER,but,I can count on one hand how many times I do eat fast food in a year.
We have lots of fresh stuff up here in NH.
We can get just about anything we want home grown or home made if we look hard enough.
I get local milk n butter, veggies in season and we do have locally grown meat.
The slaughter house is up the road a piece. They have a store in front to buy FRESH meat.
Any fresher and it would still be crapping.
Do you make your own brew?

Can you make a turducken out of it?

I think they all ready have this Porbeekenish you speak of.....I believe they call it "Hot Dog" or "Frankfuter"

Big "D",are you trying to start a happy cow stampede?

Stampede... Me?

I, like you, I get fresh when I can afford it which is only during the summer months most of the time. A local meat shop will grind any beef brought in, right in front of you, for a minimal price.

You're thinking of Frankenfurter.

What a horror show this thread has turned into. Maybe I can get out of here with a song and dance.

It's just a jump to the left......

That is a good use of tax dollars. :surprised:

Not to worry. It was funded by Sergey Brin, one of the cofounders of Google.
Please don't ruin Goldie's delusional fantasies. Everything is the government's fault.

As to the lab-produced meat, if it doesn't pan out in and of itself, it will likely lead to some other developments that will make it to market.

I can get drug free cattle beef here but it costs a fortune. I usually wait till chuck roast and Boston Butts are on sale at the grocers and grind my own burger and sausage meat. Still, the burger ground from just plain old grocery beef is 10 times better than any ground beef your average store stocks. Get this....Most grocery stores don't even grind their own. They buy it already ground and run it through the grinder again to make it look pretty. I'm an eye witness to that. I know my burger isn't straight from a drug free cow and my Boston B's are prolly not drug free either, but they sure taste better than that processed crap already made. And I know there's no "added ingredients" / mystery fillers and such.

GEEZ! They just recalled ANOTHER 50,000 pounds of ground beef this week. How many thousands does that add up to for the year?
No I don't brew. I ain't that talented.
