I ordered a standard length 3"diameter Av-bay kit from LOC for my Steppin' Razor II repair/conversion to DD project. The 8" long av-bay I previously ordered was too long and overkill for what the intended use. Hanging on it for another project, tho.

I placed an order for some Semroc kits :)

Not that I *need* any more kits, it's just that they're so pretty !!

And the Australian dollar is strong, so I would be silly *not* to take advantage of that ;)

Ordered a Bigredbee Transmitter for the Frenzy flight coming up

Ordered a gig of ram off eBay the old laptop I take to launches

Don't forget the discussion we had about the motor sticking an inch or three out of the back of the motor mount to get the CG down closer to the CP which is most like down inside the tube can.

You say "overstable" like it's a bad thing :=)

Ari.

Took a break from bigger stuff to put together my NewWay Vigilangle kit....pic below is from advertisement on FleaBay, not mine (yet).

Really well thought out kit! And as I always loved the Estes Vigilante, this one was a "must have"....

What about something like this -

They are in the model plane section of the hobby store. They use them for the ruder/flaps ect. I've used them for just that purpose before :)

Basically what I had in mind, but I need to solve the issue of mounting to a curved surface. I may be making things too hard on myself, and this is really a non-issue. I'll know fr sure when I get the ideas out of my head and start playing with wood and paper.

Finally got my NAR card and am working on a new 24MM build. Going to see how the free form fins work in open rocket. I am guessing nose weight will help or I can jam a baffle in there and extend the BT to get it a good flier.

Yes, and I have all of the white dots on it this time. I flew it on the CTI L1030 Red Lightning. Apogee was 2141'.

Holy carp that thar is a beauteeeous Black Star V... that was built in a thread on TRF oui?

A bunch of stuff on my dominator scratch rocket. Will post details and pics soon.

Ordered a MadCow 4" FiberGlass Little John , no more spiral for me ......

Stopped at the local industrial supply place near my home and picked up a number rocket parts (forged eye bolts, 1/4 and 5/16 nuts, washers, and fender washers). As noted above in a similar thread by another rocketeer, I bought av-bay parts. Great minds work on similar projects. :D

Well, the rocket factory cranked out another one with one in progress. First is a BT 70 based rocket with 18" body tube and the cone from the BMS nosecone assortment. 24mm motor mount and I used the Totally Tubular Multi Centering ring. First time with the TT product. I like it. Especially since it can be used for so many sizes. The second I'm working on starts with a 2" section of BT 80 and what to do with it. Most of the body will be tapered shroud. I have to make one big enough to go from BT 80 to BT 20. 2 more of the TT centering rings with 6" of BT 20 for a body tube. Hartle Engineering 8" parachute and a BMS looong conical nose cone. Fins will have to be a long swept design I think.

This morning, before work, I unloaded rocket gear from my truck. Got Home from Red Glare at 8:30 Sunday Night and had nothing left in the tank to unload the gear, after 2 long walks Saturday the old legs were hurtin'. ( I don't think it's the distance, but the uneven terrain that gets to me.) Monday night had a Cub Scout cookout to go to, so finally got it done this morning. I guess you could say I left it all on the field.

Finished painting the Rip-Roar clone and added the decals today. Sharon's "Squat!" is done too, she just needs to get back in the Rocket room and add rail buttons and decal and it will be done. Hopefully that's all the painting I need to do for a while.
Moved the StratoLogger from my DS Jr. into the "Bunny" for it's maiden flight at Spring blast this month. If that goes good on the I165 C-star, it will go right back up on a J360 Skidmark for my L-2 cert. attempt.

Got my Mariah 38 kit today from GLR. Man this by far the most complex build I have seen in a kit. I love the idea of the challenge to push this thing past 10k, break my personal best of 8.5k or so in the mid 90's.

Decided that the mark the bug has left in my freshly painted finish really isn't bad enough to re-paint... twitch... twitch...
