What are your contract rates? Our front garden needs weeding.
Ha!

Seriously, when a house hasn’t been lived in for probably four of five years it takes a lot to get it back up to snuff.

You couldn’t pay me enough to weed your garden after we have just spent three days pulling vines out of a near two acre lawn.

Another few weeks and I can get back to farm work. #gardeningonsteroids

This reminded me of when I replaced my fence, and our neighbor asked me how much to replace their fence, and I responded “20% more than whatever you are willing to pay.”

Arguing with the dishwasher. I prefer all the water to remain in the dishwasher until said water is discarded via the proper channels, i.e., through existing plumbing. Dishwasher decided otherwise. Water's been mopped up, and since I can't see very well with the unit in place, the next step is to unscrew a few fasteners and roll the thing out.

And on Friday we finally got quotes for the two doors to be replaced. Front door is 36" wide and has a 12" wide, non-movable "sidelight" on each side. Price for the door is just over $700. Sidelights are (gulp) $940. EACH!!! So with installation the front door will run well over $3000. The other door is trivial by comparison, $600 door plus $300 installation.

Aaaand....next we need to take a careful look at the HVAC unit....
I wonder what a 60" door instead would cost. Or a pair of weatherproof french doors.

Saturday I got the bivalent COVID booster and this years flu shot. Yesterday I sat on the couch. I didn't exactly fee like I had side effects, but the total lack of energy obviously was one. Putting away the week's groceries that my wife brought home really took it out of me. Feeling better today, but it's early.

I got both together last year and the same thing happened to me,just no energy. I just got the covid booster a week ago, but waiting a week more before flu this time. No symptoms other than a swolen/sore lymph node in armpit this time. Much better from my pov.

I got them together last year and didn't have any problem.

Yesterday was better, but I only lasted until about 3:00 when the second cup of coffee wore off.

I went back to the hospital for another breathing test since finally getting rid of my lung infection. lungs are still at 50% of normal capacity

I went down to Melbourne {Florida} beach to watch the waves come in. I used to go there when I lived here in 79. It's still the same. Sand and water. There were some crazy tourists in the surf. I guess they didn't know that there are sharks in the ocean. There were jellyfish washed up on the beach too. I got some in my swim suit once. Thought I was going to die if I didn't get them off. The shorts that is. Some of the jellys are very small. Wrapped a large towel around myself and pulled the trunks off and poured water on my...... Well, you know. Here are some pictures. The last picture is a dead Jellyfish.20220920_175012[256].jpg20220920_182610[254].jpg20220920_183351[252].jpg20220920_181805[250].jpg

I emptied the lower portion of my plastic tool box that is bowed out in the middle, and took a heat gun to it while pushing in on it.

Tried getting 4 other guys to go to a famous hot dog place for lunch, then to a cigar shop where they will roll you a custom cigar. Everyone has days they cannot go.

It's been an ugly few weeks for health in my extended family. The good news is that both uncles with advanced Parkinson's are recovering (one from hip surgery, one from fall > surgery > sepsis > pneumonia). The bad news is that my 28-year-old niece is on hospice and likely to pass in the next couple of weeks. She got 5 years when the prognosis was 2, but that's not much consolation at her age. Cancer sucks.

Did some troubleshooting trying to figure out why my desktop PC will not put out anything to the monitors, so now we have to take the side off of it and pull on the video card and check all the connections inside.

Repairing father-inlaw's wall oven. Dials had come loose so was difficult to know what function/temperature was set. Fixed that. Then the fan-forced function wouldn't work. Thought I might have stuffed it up, but it is in need of a new element :( . So much for getting that job out of the way.

Out for dinner to a Greek restaurant we have been going to for nearly 30 years.

Took the side cover off of the Hewlett Packard desktop computer, but did not see anything that resembled any type of video card that they said to check for as a possible loose connection. The computer doesn't even have 10 hours on it. But it doesn't want to seem to put anything up on the video monitor. It did a couple of months ago, now it won't work.

Are you able to verify the monitor itself is working, i.e. connect it to another computer? If that checks out, you can try forcing it into the BIOS set up, but if you don't see anything at all chances are the MBoard video could have flaked. Loose or bad monitor cable/power cable are far more likely though.

yes, both of my monitors and the Plugable hub all work with my wifes laptop.

Packing and getting ready to fly back home. I leave Orlando Florida at 3:10pm EST and arrive in Las Vegas at 5:10pm PST. To bad it's an almost 6 hour flight. It would be nice if it was only 2 hours. We need supersonic jets.
