Donated $5 to the NAR to help stave off financial trouble in the near future.

Oops. Make that "Tried to donate..." because the "Donate" link on the NAR web page just brings me to the PayPal front page and I can't find NAR in their list of charities for donation to.

EDIT: The problem has been fixed.

Picked up some 1" letters and six B6-4's at Hobby lobby yesterday. Named my Nike Smoke and added it to the rocket:

Looks like the next few days will be good for painting, so this rocket and my Viper 3 clone are ready for clearcoat, might get color on the Frenzy XL and the Darkstar Jr. this weekend. Not sure how Tommy 2.5 will end up, it's having issues with wrinkles....
Awesome job.

Mean Machine. Fun rocket to fly.I was in Hobby Lobby a few days ago and their prices are very good. A good selection of nice rockets. The ASM-58 is a nice kit. The Estes E engines are like Ten dollars cheaper than they are on line. Whoopee cushions are fun to have. I have one and wonder where a launch lug would fit. Ha! Just kidding.

yea I have been pleasantly surprised with the really good prices on the random Estes kits hobby lobby carry’s I didn’t see the ASM kit that would of been a good one to grab also
“launch lug on a whoopee cushion” I would try lol lol 😆

I finally finished my More Rockets Viper today. It was kinda a pita with papering the fins because of soft balsa, painting the insides of the turbo tubes and having to clear coat the deals before applying. I know it was summer outside when I painted the inside of the tubes black. She looks pretty cool after all the work. I will have to admire it for awhile before I fly it!20201111_202924.jpg20201111_202645.jpg20201111_202542.jpg20201111_202515.jpg
I have the Super Viper kit too, but it may be a couple years before I do this again.

No reason. I just thought that's what they looked like.

Nope! Just a cheap, simple, effective MDF stand. Easy to assemble, paint, weather, detail...

If it sounds like an advertisement, it probably is!

Cut a switch band and Fit and drilled avionics bay for a labratt pull pin switch....glued it together. Cut materials for tip to tip carbon fiber fin reinforcement , and got it in the vacuum bag...not easy or pretty...guess we shall see what it looks like when it’s leather. image.jpg

Resurrected my god so old Paasch H.
Got it working, practiced on an Estes HiFlier. Looks ok so far.
Needed some work at fin to body masking.
So resurrected an old Testors Aztec.. it works...and fine lines to semi fix the masking transition... lol. By over spraying.
But it would splatter a bit . Tip dry problem I guess.
Tomorrow will go get some couplers to use the fancier pressure gauge setup. Want to be able switch easier to the Iwata CS eclipse that I never learned to use lol!

Now you've got to tell us the story behind the furry one in the foreground.

There is a bit of a long and winding story. In short, there is someone in our house who used to like to eat cat food, and my wife thought it would be hilarious for the announcer to call out that rocket name. It'll be be dual deploy, with an F24, and a special parachute.

I'm being a little tongue-in-cheek, but, don't get too mad at me... This is promotional! I hand-painted this for my 2 year old grandson. His picture will go in the porthole. I'm figuring to print it on white decal paper and put the decal on clear plastic so the light will show through. Unless someone has a better way to print a picture onto translucent media...

I'm doing my best to raise a new generation of rocketeers!
