Did we ever hear your plans for what's gonna go in the cargo pod?
But remember also that the loss of thrust (and thus impulse) is merely according to the cosine of the cant angle. These look like - what? about 10°. That would mean only about 1.5% loss. At 20° you lose 6%. So it would take a tiny baby E to look like a D. (An Estes E12 would have to be canted about 43° to look like a D.)

Any other idea's are welcome. Got a Guinea Pig I could borrow?
Can't launch anything with a spine. Great opportunity for a political comment here, but I will avoid it in respect for the moderators!
And maybe a parachute?I guess I should have put a helmet on him.
At least I think the black streaks were from his boots....

This rocket got some discussion at the very end of the latest episode of The Rocketry Podcast...
Did this rocket ever fly?
Speaking of which... anybody know of a good place to buy micro aligator clips for the ignitors? The local hardware store has them but they are $5 a piece! I need (8) of them and there is no way I'm paying $40 for (8) little clips.
https://www.newark.com/search?st=micro alligatorI had the same issue, and got around it by buying a package of test leads with alligator clips and cutting the wires in half. It was cheaper than buying the alligator clips individually, and they already have wires attached. I forget where I bought them, but they were cheap.
Aww, shucks! 'Tweren't nothin'!Thanks guys... you folks are awesome.
Or just oil it and leave it light; it's lovely as is.Built a display stand today for the Lifting Rocket.View attachment 411626
Curious, will three 18” chutes take up more space than a single corresponding larger chute? All my experience is in low power, when I have tried even two chute is usually find one inflates and the other streamers.
Fly a rocket with the motor on the bottom WHERE IT SHOULD BE...poppycock! The answer to your question is kinda. The 8 motor Avro Lancaster had 2 lower midcant 18mm motors. Same with Dick Stafford's Ekranoplan. He had a build thread on The Rocket Dungeon if that site is still around. Now that I have some flights under my belt as a BAR it's time to finish The Lifting Rocket.
I'm revising the (3) parachutes to a single 30" chute and plan to fly it without the cargo bay, on a cluster of (3) D12's. If that's a success, I'l try the cluster and a single motor at the bottom of the rocket. And then if that's successful, I'll add the cargo bay.
Well, that's the plan anyway.
@Daddyisabar, have you ever flown a tractor motor rocket that also had a motor at the bottom of the rocket, at the standard location?
