Did we ever hear your plans for what's gonna go in the cargo pod?
You have a good eye Joe. They are canted 12 degrees ... just enough to give a warm toasty glow to the BT-60 main fuselage..
On the first few flights a motor. But the motor mount is removable. Even with the motor mount though one of those small thumb drive looking altimeters would fit nicely. Or remove the motor mount and install a camera.
Any other idea's are welcome. Got a Guinea Pig I could borrow?
With a load like a camers, consider these:
The F30 motors... wow, they are powerful... but expensive. About twice the price of the E-20's
They seem like a good choice as they don't seem to have enough kick to shred the rocket at ignition.
Can't launch anything with a spine. Great opportunity for a political comment here, but I will avoid it in respect for the moderators!
No worries.. it was meant as a joke. As a kid I had a small GI Joe that I placed in the one piece plastic payload / nose cone of a rocket. He was a snug fit. When I recovered it the tips of his black boots left skid marks from the bottom of the payload section up toward the top, where his head was jambed into the nose cone.
At least I think the black streaks were from his boots....
I guess I should have put a helmet on him.
And maybe a parachute?
I was going to suggest a diaper......
only if they make diapers in Camo patterns.
oops, they do!
This rocket got some discussion at the very end of the latest episode of The Rocketry Podcast...
Congratulations, John for the thumbs up on the Rocketry Show podcast.
I was aware of the podcast but not the FB discussion group.
Some interesting stuff there.
Once again, thanks for the heads up Neil. I'll check it out.

Did this rocket ever fly?
Thanks for asking. Has not launched yet. It still needs the copper paint and I need to build the launch platform.
Or as the CD player indicates.... STAND BY..
Speaking of which... anybody know of a good place to buy micro aligator clips for the ignitors? The local hardware store has them but they are $5 a piece! I need (8) of them and there is no way I'm paying $40 for (8) little clips.
I had the same issue, and got around it by buying a package of test leads with alligator clips and cutting the wires in half. It was cheaper than buying the alligator clips individually, and they already have wires attached. I forget where I bought them, but they were cheap.
Newark has a wide selection for decent prices. I'm sure you could find them from mouser.com as well.
Many cheap options.
Thanks guys... you folks are awesome.
Aww, shucks! 'Tweren't nothin'!
I think I speak for Neil, as well, when I say we're happy to help where we can. I, for one, know that my rocketry accomplishments have been because I was helped by many, many people!
