On the Aerotech kits they pre cut the body tube in rectangular slots to accommodate the lugs. I plan on using rail buttons instead and want to know if filling them in with putty is sufficient or should I cut them out and fill them another way? Thanks.

You could always use both!

Put the lugs on one side and buttons on another.

Gives you twice the choices with none of the filling ;)

Thanks but I only plan on launching it with the rail so the stock lugs are unnecessary.

If the BT is big enough to get your hand into, place a piece of masking tape inside the BT at the slots and then fill the slots with epoxy. Smooth the epoxy flush with the BT on the outside of the BT and let cure.

That's a fair call :)

What about cutting a small piece of body tube of the same diameter and glue it inside - make it bigger than the hole. Once the glue is dry, cut another piece the same size as the hole and glue it in place.

You should then only have the join around the edge of the 2nd layer to fill.
