Oddly Apogee's website does not yet list CR for sale...
They just started shipping today. Retailers will have to wait for the units to arrive. Yet another reason to buy directly from John!

Yes, it ships free...John also offers free shipping I believe.
Wow, ordered Monday at noonish, received it already this morning! That's fast from CA to KY, standard free shipping! John, your shipping, packing, and, retail box are a work of art!
Unfortunately, due to weather, and medical reasons, I won't get a chance to fly it for a few weeks.

I hope that room is not yours. If so your poor kids must be very hungry and cold. HA HA see you at the Bong
Also got one, direct from John/Jolly Logic.
Wow, the product, packaging, and presentation are all absolutely top-notch. MUCH more "professional" than just about any other rocketry product out there. Dinked around a bit and it's all very intuitive, easy to "get", and smooth. Looks like this will be a winner for sure. Can't wait to start flying it - I'm certain I'm going to love it.
Now, the big question for me (and the one I've been whining about all through the development/anticipation stage): will this work in 38mm airframes??? Finally I get to put my own hands on one and see for myself. And the answer is............................................................mostly kinda yes.
As expected, yes the unit itself fits into a 38mm airframe. And also as expected, it does not leave a whole lot of room for anything else (like a parachute!). But HOW much was what I wanted to know. And now that I've played with it a bit, I can say that with some VERY careful and creative packing, and with chutes/wraps no bulkier than they absolutely have to be, it DOES look like it can work. This makes me happy, because for my purposes this unit is the perfect thing for a bunch of 38mmAF whoosh-pop rockets I've got. It's great that it will also work for larger rockets, but it's these that I really had in mind when I first heard of the ChuteRelease. It will definitely require some extra attention to pack just right, but it CAN work and that's what I wanted.
I'm pleased.
Thanks John for dreaming this up, for making it a reality, and for offering it up to all of us in such a refined, high quality way. Very sweet.
