My first recollections of construction and flight are of the Centuri Vulcan and today I enjoy building and flying with my granddaughter.
We have a small fleet of Estes birds and I have scratch built this rocket from discarded cardboard tubing and luan plywood scrap.
I have built a 24MM motor mount unit from Estes Big Daddy and am also using the nosecone from that kit and intend to also build a 29MM mount that will allow me to fly her on everything from "D" to "G".
The fins are of my own design and were hastily drawn on the fly and are filietted with lightweight spackleing compound as are the launch lugs that were cut from an old areotech copperhead igniter tube .
Recovery is on an Estes 24" nylon parachute on 36" of 3/16" elastic cord that will be attached to the bulkhead in final construction.
I plan to finish her in a color scheme of blue chrome airframe and nosecone with black carbon fiber fins.
I have purchased some blue chrome and black carbon fiber wrap from a local graphic print company and I am going to wrap her myself after finding the "stickershock" web page.
Just for fun I thrashed together this M5 booster for a Nike Smoke from kitchen wrap tube and poster board, laminating and embossing the fins by hand. scratch building a nosecone for a 1"I.D. soon:cheers:

Thank you, I have been very pleased to finally write and post the photos of this build. and I will continue to add to the thread as I complete this bird

We have new photos of tonights efforts wrapping the fins in carbon fiber vehicle wrap and I must say that although the finish of the job did not come out as well as I had wanted, it did come out far better than I thought I could ever do it.
