I thought I'd start up a little action here. For those who haven't seen it, I tested a 76/8000 in Argonia a few weekends ago. Thanks to the KLOUDBusters for all their support. This was Loki Red, although it looks orange, it was a VERY nice red. The load cell amp went haywire so no thrust data but pressure was right where it was suppose to be. It took 5.6 seconds to burn 4,932g of propellant which put this into the small N range impulse, about 10,500Ns is my estimate. Everything was picture perfect except for the nozzle. It needs a slight change in its design and then it won't blister the phenolic so badly. The cold air in flight does a lot to help this as well.

This is a scale up of the 54/2800 L-1040 Loki Red

And a pressure curve trace. Needs only minor tweaking.

Scott,,

Ha! Thanks, Terry. Understatement is one of my specialties. I even fretted over the exclamation point. But I really am excited. Here's a picture of my current project, not exactly understated, but you can see how a new Loki bleeding-edge-of-performance motor might get me excited.

That's a Loki 54-4000. All pre-preg carbon. Fillets start tomorrow.

I've also got a prepeg carbon 75mm project that's going up on an M2245 this summer, but it sure would be nice to have an even bigger Loki load for the second flight. :)

Drooling at 4, not 3 fins..... Very nice :)

Here's a video, not the best quality. The vertical image made for some nasty video effects in the flame tail.

What the heck is that, I hope one of those tubes is 48", if not you better pick one up.

Mongoose 75, yep- 48" booster. Fiberglass, but it'll get the job done. Grabbed one with no real plan in mind for it. :)

Dave Brown got his L1 cert yesterday on an H160 Loki Blue-

The Loki is on Bank 1, and Bank 1 is plotted on the graph. (Bank 0 is a 54/1050 EX load Dan Patell made)

In the interest of obsessive numbers, the Loki flight reported a max accel of 23G's. I sort of blew up the deployment charges (the first set off the backup as well) It appears the boost generated around 18G's

I did my L1 cert last weekend with a Binder Design Tyrannosaur riding a Loki H144. Everything worked great. Next month it's going to get a serious kick in the pants with an I405.

Congratulations BDB! That's a great looking kit too. Thank you to both you and Mr. Brown for certifying with Loki Research.
Don't blink when your I-405 hits or you'll miss it. ;-)

To both of you-
Did you find it hard at all to assemble you first 38mm Loki motor compared to other brands you have used?
What about clean up?

I just followed your YouTube video to assemble the H144. It was a piece of cake. But thanks for making the video. Without it I would have been a little intimidated.

Cleanup was easy too. Probably a little easier than my CTI 29 mm 3-grain. It seems like there is always a lot of plastic crap on it after flight.

My only issue was that I didn't follow your advice and get the Knipex pliers. I used some cheapo ones that I found at Harbor Freight, and they were a total pain in the butt.
