Maybe L2 someday, but it's not a priority for next year. I have a huge pile of L1 motors and rockets. I'm still climbing up the "I" class motor selection. It'll keep me busy.

Hans.

Build the 7.5" version of the variable drag project. Test it on L800s (75/3g). Make a couple N800s (or N1000s) for later flights.
I consider the 18 and 24 mm motors operational. I've flown them in up to 7 motor clusters successfully.

My list for the year, all aspirational:
  • Work on my build, painting and flying skills
  • Fly a 2 stage successfully
  • Achieve L1 certification
  • Successful mile high flight
  • Build and fly 2-3 L1 rockets
  • Successful dual deploy flight

Mine are mostly recycled from last year:

1. 5x DD flights (got 4/5 last year)
2. Fly an L motor (I think I have 3 ordered but none in hand)
3. Finish my Wildman Demon 5 and fly it
4. [Stretch] Fly a composite cluster (probably have to build the LOC Ultimate I bought on Black Friday to complete this)

  1. Level 2 Certification
  2. build/Solder Eggtimer without incident
  3. buy/build/fly/recover min dia fiberglass rocket (looking at you Wildman M2)
  4. Most difficult challenge of them all ... cleanout the garage

Tag the O rung of my Alphabet ladder project.
Initally designed to be A-M in a single year via minimum diameter rockets in 2008.
Fin flutter shredded my M attempt that year.
Took 3 more tries with various failure modes before tagging the M rung in 2010.
Managed to get the N rung on first attempt in 2013.

and the dart!!?

  1. Finish L3 bird and cert
  2. Start flying some research motors.
  3. Convert 4 channel launch controller to wireless.
  4. Find my 18 & 24mm casings.
4) fly my 4" Nike Apache two stage
Tag me when you do, I'd like to see it.

Fly a 2 stage successfully

Fair warning. Flying 2 stage is addictive. Before long you start thinking about stacking another booster.

1) Complete, test fly, and fully fly my 54mm minimum 2-stage diameter rocket
2) Finish designing and start building my 16" FatBoy
3) Continue helping out a local university at the Spaceport America Cup
4) Attend more launches with awesome rocket people!
5) BALLS.....?

Nothing crazy but I’ll see what I have time/energy for:
- build at least 3 of the 5 rockets I have (most of) the parts for
- finish a design I started a couple months ago and then left
- try to find a bigger field to launch at (I’m fine with low-and-slow but would like the option to do some higher launches)

Well......

1) find out how many rockets I actually have.... (lots!)
2) repair or refurbish those in need. Some miner stuff like paint/decals... otherwise, scrap for parts/other projects.
3) finish projects already started before anything new..
4) no new rockets until the above are accomplished (ACK!) ( unless the PSII Nike Smoke returns, then I'll get one for a backup to my flyer.)
5) attempt to fly all the built ones at least once during the yr. This will probably take the entire flying season
6) sort out some kits to sell I will never get built. And a couple built rare ones.

YIKES! I'm DOOMED!
