But they call them Rocket Racerz Micro Motors:confused2: I presume these would be the MMX-NE(No Ejection) motors?

I got mine on monday with my purchase. I already found an error with one of the motor weights ;)

I bet we found more errors than you. Of course before publication would have been nice...

Still no hard copy here. Am not impressed.

I know Nettie said they're being sent out in 'waves' according to zip code, but it seems to be more of a ripple at this point.

PM me your address. The weather here has been a real problem for trucks bringing stuff and picking up. We do have plenty of envelopes for the catalogs though...and they look sweet too.

Thanks Shrox!

I received a Quest catalog in the mail a few days ago. Thanks, Quest. :)

The catalog envelope is nice.

I've decided not to open the envelope and preserve it. :D

Finally got mine a few days ago. Thanks to both Quest and Shrox, as I ended up with two in the end.

Yeah,, I really like the new Quest catalog...hard copy always preferable.

Really excited about the new Aerospace One (and the fighter escorts) as well as the Minotaur (looks like a Future Launch Vehicle on steroids!).

Great to finally see some exciting new products from Quest!

I wonder if I got the same catalog as everyone else did. Why are some of the engine codes in dark blue but the others in white text? Is the Harpoon supposed to fly on an A6-4 or not? The motor is in the list but the blue text makes it look "inactive". this is unnecessarily confusing. and where's the marketing copy? I like to see text like "the Harpoon missle, produced by Boeing, bla bla bla..." almost none of the rockets have any. I give this catalog a D+ for lacking material and clarity.

I believe the motor in a different color is a first flight recommendation.

Mine came during my vacation. I honestly do not recall requesting one, but I am on the list from previous correspondence, I assume.

The catalog is really nice, and I'll be putting together a list of things to order soon. Being a resident of Colorado, it sure feels good to see so much renewed model rocketry activity "locally".

what makes you believe that? The Cobalt kit page 5 - motor option is A6-4 ONLY but also listed in dark blue, according to you, are three first flight motors - B6-4, C6-3 & C6-5. If what you believe is true then the reader should see text someplace explaining that.

Folks, I don't mean to sound like a jerk or anything - I like and have built Quest kits and in this catalog I like the Striker AGM, SHX Stiletto, the Tomahawk, the Future Launch Vehicle. this is just my 2-cent impression of the catalog. thanks

You just sound surprisingly angry about it though. The motors in white are the only ones recommended for the model, the ones in blue are not.

Puzzling. Then why include them at all if they aren't recommended?

who can open the catalog and show where that is explained?

this could be the only catalog in history that everyone absolutely likes utterly to the 9's but never actually bothered to read.

Maybe everybody else can figure it out. Also, maybe some folks are happy to see that a company has bothered to finally print a catalog. The first new catalog in what? 5 years? And with products aimed more so at the hobbyist rather than the Wal-Mart shopper. If you are so disappointed with the catalog and its content you should show your displeasure by not buying from them, Quest obviously printed the catalog to mislead and confuse people and you are the one who uncovered their evil plot. You go boy!

I think that Quest has done a nice job with putting out a print catalog. I think your grade is too harsh. Really ? D+ ?

After looking over the motor recommendations for each kit, "I think" most modelers understand the system they have used. To your credit I think this could be confusing for a beginner.

I would also like the kits to have descriptions and or brief line or two of fiction to hype up the design.

Maybe Quest will utilize your "suggestions" if presented correctly, it is a consensus, and they feel it is the right thing to do.

Your rant here in a public forum basically trashing them is not going to help :gavel:

I find that positive feedback with opportunities for improvement pointed out in a good light, will get you a lot further with the company and most hobbyist's IMHO

I plead plausible deniability.

I think both of you are overreacting. I didn't find Queeg's tone all that harsh but D+ *is* probably a bit much. I'm no longer a beginner, but I didn't find the motor charts to be all that self explanatory and expected to find some kind of key to explain them. I looked more than once but didn't find one that I recall. I figured it out eventually (or thought I did) but it was never clear.

I love the new catalog! As for Marketing Text; I'm looking to get a rocket not a Sci-Fi novel. As to recomended motor; Who realy cares? I choose what I want to fly it on based on Field size and wind conditions. Quest, You have a winner!

I got my catalog a few weeks ago and found it to be top notch! If I was to grade it I would give it an A-. I love the new designs and the way they presented the models. The graphics layout are also good. The "-" is because of the lack of description (I use to read the old catalogs just for their imaginative description of the rockets...).

I think that some where "angry" (?) and have been too harsh when posting their views on the rocket. Opinions are like belly buttons... everyone has one. I agree with Zog139 on how to present opinions in a more positive manner. You get better results when done that way. Quest put a lot of effort and money into this catalog and now, they are giving them for free. Send them a nice note telling them how cool the catalog looks and submit your suggestions for the next catalog.

Here is my suggestion: Since the catalog has no description of the rockets, why not add these to the website?

... then again, the eeevell Shroxanians and Questins may have joined forces and plot to take over the world by spreading discontent... :jaw: :y:
