PVC 29mm retainer ?

I have a PVC (plumbing) 1-1/4" slip joint nut and adapter.
Fits perfect as a screw on 29mm retainer, but heat melts the plastic nut.

some where I saw a pic of one used for a 29mm retainer ?

anyone have any experiance ?

I have used PVC parts for a 38mm retainer. I don't have enough flights to prove that it will never degrade, but so far it's worked fine with no signs of melting or burning. It's heavier than other retaining options, but not that big a deal on an HPR bird.

I've got a dozen or so flights on my Rising Star Payloader with a 24mm PVC retainer. The cap looks pretty grungy, but it works just fine. Here the original thread...

You may just need to make the hole a little bigger on the cap to keep it further away from the exhaust. It's not the best looking retainer out there, but it sure was cheap.
