So sorry to hear this Roger. They sure do become part of the family and it's tough to say goodbye. Passmy condolences to Bracha too.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and thoughts. Bracha has asked me to print all of the posts in this thread so that she can read them off-line and keep a copy of them.

Be sure to print and read the poem as well.

And, when you're ready, check out local shelters and rescue groups to adopt a new dog.

I donate to several groups throughout the year. We got our current dog from a rescue group and he went to work with my wife that same weekend and became a certified therapy dog on his first testing.

Most rescue groups have pretty good websites that show the dogs and give a desciption and even tell you how they tested with cats and children. Here is an example:

https://www.k9connection.org/Home.html
https://www.animalleague.org/
I also ordered 5 calendars.

And many large companies do matching gifts when you donate to qualifying charities, and some companies have employee payroll deduction charity programs and you can nominate many charities like this for a grant.

Thanks.

QT was a pure teacup poodle that was given to Bracha as a gift. But, we actively encourage people to adopt pets from shelters or rescue groups. We support a local rescue group and have fostered a few animals for them. Our oldest cat was adopted from a rescue group. The second oldest had to be given up by its owner. The third was a stray, born in our back yard to a cat abandoned by its owner.

I'm sure Bracha will continue to help the rescue group and, if she's up to it, provide foster care for some of the animals. While she's doing that, I wouldn't be surprised if she finds a small puppy to adopt.
