Chris' rocket supplies was hit by a tornado today in Ga so naturally orders will be delayed. While we have minimal damage to us, we have no power as the lines are down for several miles. Thanks for your understanding.

We had zero warning on the tornado...they cancelled the warning about 10 min before it hit.

We went and cut trees to open roads out of the neighborhood. I even took the ATV to rescue an elderly couple since ems couldn't get through with down power lines and trees.

Glad to hear you are OK. Stay safe using those chain saws and walking around down lines, especially at night. Never know when one might still be hot.

You're a good man, Chris. People first. Things can be replaced or fixed.

That is very heroic. Heroes do when others stand by and watch. I guess today the other film it and place it on YouTube.

This is an excellent point. Step voltage (a voltage gradient that exists on the ground near downed power lines and which causes current to flow up one leg, through a person and back to ground through the other leg) can kill just as effectively as actually brushing a power line.
Focusing on the ground can pose a hazard as well. Years ago in a neighboring town, a young man was killed in sort of a freak accident. As I recall he stopped to help someone who had run into a utility pole. While looking down his head contacted a low hanging line and he was killed.
More recently, a lineman I knew was killed while working to clear trees from lines. A cut across the trunk resulted in the unbalanced root ball rolling and killing him. Gravity can be a real problem.

I actually have one, but it won't run the heat pump. Power came on just now....for 30 seconds and then bang, back out. Now it's snowing outside too.

That shows they’re trying to restore circuits at least. Is the heat pump the only heat source you have?

We have a fireplace too, and it's been used heavily today. Not much wood left...power is on again IMG_20190305_000323.jpeg

    Wooowwwww,,
    I'm jealous Chris..
I always wanted a fireplace in my home..
I love the smell of a wood fire burning..
Even though I know it usually makes the rest of the house cold
if the thermostat is anywhere near the fireplace..

Why won't the generator run the heat pump ??
    Too small ??
