Hi all,
My name is Jeff and I recently became interested again in model rocketry. I first started back in the mid-90s as a middle school student with help from my father, as we were both big space buffs and have been to Kennedy Space Center and have seen numerous space shuttle launches.
Given the downtime as a result of current events, I've been reconnecting with lost interests. I'm amazed at the community of model rocketeers online - it's like I've found a treasure trove of information and building tips that weren't available when I first started building rockets 25 years ago.
I'm currently working on building an Estes Patriot, which I'm enjoying very much. It's far from perfect as my gluing and painting skills are a little rusty (I figure my first few builds will be a little "rough"), but if and when I do launch it, I'll try to be smarter and not have it land in a tree like so many of my other builds from back in the day.
I'm located in the Philadelphia suburbs, so if any fellow members are in the area, I'd love to connect. I plan to join my local NAR and go to a meet once things open up again.
Look forward to meeting everyone else.
