Looking great. sounds like lots of fun or you in the future. Thanks for the pictures.
Whew.... I gotta be honest I kind of had and got that older collection dumped on me about 4 weeks ago. I started back in 1990 at age 7 or so...But, I was frantically looking for answers or trying to find supplies to finish these(which is why some older threads got woke back up, thats kind of my fault). I did Google it, and it brought me right here..Now that I got most of them done, and it was in time for the SPAAR meet last weekend. So now I can slow back down and do some nicer, time taking, planned out builds. I was just rushing to get these ready to go up in the air. Almost everyone needed new shock cords, paint, work done to them yet. Honestly it was about a week and a half I was working from 6am to 2 or 3am then sleeping 2/3 hours and getting back up to work on these. I had to back off it was too much. But I got a few other things, range box, my interlock controller fixed, canopy, quick "flip" table foe the range, jump back for that, etc...I'm looking at GPS and altimeters but what I want is not in stock. Some I'm looking at are Public Missiles stuff, I think it was. I'm just happy to get these old ones back, and build some new ones. I had to take a unfortunate 10 year break from this that sorted with me in the hospital almost dead again. Then it just progressed to more injured and weight gain. I was 198 pounds back in 2019. Buy 2021 I was almost 330 pounds, once again from meds lole gabapentin that made me just blow up, lol. Oh its been a very hard 10 years or so. My entire house was flooded in 2011, a year before I started buying some of this stuff and everything was destroyed. I literally had a bag of clothes and my TV, then work(UPS) called an wanted me to come to work. I'm told the center manager my $&$&#&ing house is underwater. Anyways, decided in May to buy an Alpha III kit, then it progressed to a JL chute release, OpenRocket, etc..So, now I'm just doing random things foe a little but then ill get back to builds. Really excited to build a few. Ok all of them. I'm kind of at a stand still waiting for centering rings but thsts due to supply chain issues. I sorted using Rocketryworks and really had a great time until I got that "we are closing" email, they sent out. I'm looking at laser engravers for metal. But they cut wood that I would need cut, and I could make my own parts right here. I need that, and as soon as I get back to my house and tools. I have an entire workshed I built just for building these. It the same place I went to get all that stuff back. I've lived there for 20 years. I left town for a very short time, and well the new house owner just kind of let family move into my house. But I've dealt with worse. I can make a bad situation good, most times. I'm so used to it. I really love this hobby, and in no way is it a "look at me". I just like to share what I build and learn, in hopes it helps someone else out. I struggled a lot and sometimes my enthusiasm to not make mistakes, kind of confuses people with me being angry. Which I'm not. I absolutely love teaching, my niece at 3 years old helped build that Partizon. I have that somewhat re-freshed. Many more to build though. Holy crap.
Sorry for the long story, just kind of giving a backstory so it doesn't seem like a 40 year old man just having a mental breakdown and randomly cutting rockets apart, lol..
SBB is still not glued other than the top and center, centering rings.
