Had some fun Easter Sunday out at the In-Laws place. Took the rockets in case we could get in a launch or two.

Winds were gusting, but we managed to sneak in a couple lift offs during the lulls. Started with a 220 Swift and we actually managed to recover it after the first launch about 30 feet from the pad. The second launch was not as lucky and the Swift was lost in the trees or snow.

After that we decided to try the Baby Bertha on an A8-3. Did not want to get too high as the winds were really moving above 200 feet. The first launch was good, but the chute did not open up and the rocket landed with a nice splat in the mud. No damage and we got in a second launch before the winds picked up and ended the fun.

Here are some photos of the fun. https://www.wood-family.us/cpg1410/thumbnails.php?album=8

Wow, I was also at the In-laws too. We had now our annual Easter Launch at the farm. All were present to enjoy C and D motors. The wind was next to nothing. We had a great time. No snow here, so retrieval was a snap.

Cheers!

As my 10 year old says, "Dad, When are we goin' rocket hunting."

I had a Easter launch and was able to fly my plate rocktet, and a BullPup.

I'm hoping for a 220 Swift and Quark finding miracle in my near future too! That's a good lookin Baby Bertha y'all've got there... nice colors. I just noticed you're in Anchorage... I've got a buddy up there workin on the slopes... he's too into movie making to get into rockets though... that's some harsh lookin rocket land there!
