I'll agree that someone new to rockets might not have things like motor mounts, shock cords and parachutes laying around but they will after being in this hobby for a month. I'm sure you have a huge pile sitting somewhere like the rest of us.
Best part is not supporting Estes when they try to sell you $20 worth of parts (retail) for double.
I admit to not doing a deep dive into the eRocket website for some of the misc items. I'm surprised that they have the BT-70 tube in the correct length. My original assumption was that a longer length would have to be sourced. This must be a remnant from back when they offered a complete Starlight kit. Which I would have purchased if it were still offered. When you add in a parachute, it's closer to $30. However, it's true that a considerable amount could be saved if the rocket is assembled as a S.P.E.V. compared to buying all the pieces. But those pieces had to have come from some past purchase.
