Do I need one of these for a 24/40 case?

The AT wrench has zero chance of gouging up or otherwise marring the surface of your closure.

I should mention that cannon plug pliers have teflon grips which do not mar the surface you're using them on. Mine are a bit chewed up after 25+ years of use.

I use a cloth rag, which is usually my t shirt to tighten and loosen the case. Spend your money on flying not tools you don't need.

For the 24/40 case I have also used a metal beer bottle opener I received for free at the New Belgium Brewery tent during the annual beer tasting festival. Once you close up the 24/40 case with a bottle opener you are more than ready for the easier to load high power motors.
