I have found some material I think will be good for MPR use for centering rings. It's called insulating board, used in electrical applications. The board I found is 1/8" thick and is not much heavier than lite ply. Extremely tough.

You guys know of this material? And will it be ok for CRs? I think in MPR it will...but I have been wrong before.... :)

I'm not familiar with the material you are describing but you'd be surprised with what you can be used for centering rings. FWIW, I have used foamboard in some of my scratchbuild MPR/HPRs.) If it's rigid & can be cut to shape, then you're halfway there. The only unknown left is do any glues or epoxy stick to it? If the answer is YES, then you're good to go ;)

HTH,

I'll be using epoxy on this stuff....it's kinda like circuit board material...

It could be "fish paper" ("vulcanized fiber") or phenolic.

Phenolic sounds very close...hmmm...I'll post a pic later.

phenolic is brown with fibers in it..very strong
