CMASS has scheduled a series of four TARC-only launches at the School Street Field in Acton, MA, for any teams that need the space to practice or witnesses for qualifying attempts. The dates are:
18 February
04 &18 March
01 April
These are not open club launches but any club members (especially NAR members) are encouraged to come by to help with performing our tasks of witnessing, timing and completing the paperwork (if there's some down time, club volunteers may be able to put a few up, no guarantees).

Any TARC teams that want to avail themselves of this opportunity should post a reply in this thred or contact a CMASS officer through our website. Teams should bring all of the supplies they will need to do as many launches as we can fit in during each session. These supplies will include rockets, motors, starters, eggs, paperwork and anything else needed to prep for each flight. CMASS will provide the ground support equipment including 6-foot long 1010 launch rails and an excellent launch system with relays to ensure good ignition.

We want to be set up and ready to go by 11 AM and will fly until about 3PM depending on how many teams come to fly with us each day. Keep an eye on the website as weather conditions may change the dates we've planned.

To any college teams or clubs that are thinking about doing their L1 certification attempts at a future CMASS launch in Amesbury, it would be a good idea to bring your mid-power rockets (or your L1 rocket on a mid-power motor) to an earlier launch, like these TARC launches, to show us your L1 attempt won't be your first ever launch. Amesbury is a tricky field to fly on as the wind direction can severely limit altitude for a safe recovery. We don't want to have any flights that could:
  • be unsafe in general,
  • cause harm to anyone or anything,
  • cause problems with the neighbors, or
  • lose us the use of the field.

One down, three to go. We had a couple of teams do some practice flights with us, a father and son come by to launch their first rocket with us and a family of four drive up from Quincy just to see what CMASS was all about after visiting our web site. We may have picked up some new flyers for our future launches.

A few club member flights made some nice demonstrations from MicroMaxx to mid-power. And, not a single tree was fed through the day.

Our next date is scheduled for 04 March. See you there.

Next TARC only launch is scheduled for Saturday, 18 March, at the School Street fields in Acton.
If your team plans on flying with us, please let us know at least a day or two before.

Looks like there will be a pop-up TARC launch on Sunday the 12th. Any TARC teams are welcome to come and practice. Howard is planning on being there about 11.

If you are thinking of taking advantage of this bonus opportunity, please post on the forum thread on the club website.

We are GO for today's launch, Saturday 18 March, at the School Street fields in Acton.

I hope for no issues with the cricket clubs but they are arrogant enough to think they're entitled to use at any time, with or without a permit. If they're there, their status will be confirmed to them so we can have our launches.

The last TARC-only of the season is scheduled for 01 April at the School Street fields in Acton, MA.

Let us know if your team is going to be showing up.

The weather is hitting us again.
The 01 April TARC-only launch is now postponed until Sunday, 02 April.
We're planning on 11 to 3 at the Acton School Street field. Be ready to go early as we anticipate a crowd and lots of flights.

We are GO for the TARC launch on Sunday the 2nd. It will likely be busy so plan on being ready as soon after our 11 o'clock start time as possible.
